once i know what the details are i MAY have a shot ,will depend on the finer pionts .still a great idea tho Lewis :emoticon-0137-clapping:

These will be Ironed out in the coming days/weeks Andy. The deadline the Irish use is around the 3rd week in March and I think it would be good for us to use the same,as its a format thats working well. The exact;rules, costs, accounts and prize fundraising will be in place, with the help of some of the site's more experienced fanciers and the site's admin team, long before the deadline set.

Hope you find the eventual outcome appealing and take part.

derek what you have to remember is not all have that kind of money . i dare say that some of the names that is on the list are either unemployed/on mobilaty or on state pension so i feel that a bit of consideration should go into the entry fee after all its just a bit of fun jmo .

Your right Robbie, I am totally wrong. It isnt about the money, I just saw an opportunity for someone to get a real cracking lift.I know some folk dont even pool there doos so I am wrong.

derek i for 1 would bottle it lol and the wife would kill ma .your getting excited already and the race is 6 month awa ^_^^_^^_^

This is good 30 members already ,but have noticed a few top west fanciers have not signed up yet ,we have all to remember the rules of this have still to be decided either winner takes all or section winners right now if t was £10 / loft and u got. 10 or 15 per section. That would be great and u could win between £100/£150 or £400/ £600 to the one winner fantastic start and we could have a night out to present/celebrate the winners achievements .

To my mind the only thing that really needs discussing is the prizes, accounts, entry and prize fundraising.

I think if we stick to a format that’s already out there and working well we can’t go too far wrong.

Single bird to be nominated by the third week in March

Highest entry on the SNFC Gold Cup result is the challenge winner.

The format itself offers a level playing field; whether you are a National winner or a national novice you have a fair chance on impacting the Single bird challenge. It’s a nice thing to compete for and will highlight fanciers who can pick out birds at the start of the year and condition them to score from Scotland’s main event. It’s hard enough nominating a bird that gets on the Gold Cup result the last week in June, let alone the third week in March. The single bird means that those with 100 doos have little advantage over those with 10.

As for the regional thing-it’s a race from France in June, we have no way at the moment to see whether it will be a west wind or an east wind, a fast day or a slow day or whether a bank of rain will shut out an area of the country etc.

Every section has a chance of getting on the open result, the challenge for the entries lies in doing it with a specific bird picked out in March, no false prizes to be had as this most certainly takes skill and of course bit of luck.

Some have touched on it and I feel it’s fairly valid at this stage of the game, it’s not necessarily about fanciers bagging huge lifts but we have means to generate good prize money for the winning pigeons and a forum on which to document progress and preparation. This will hopefully act as a platform that leads on to good publicity for Scottish pigeon racing in the future and a nice way for setups regardless of how big or small to get a bit of praise and recognition.

The more yeses we get the more successful the competition will be.
