Right, am just home, i have starved the doos for the day, because if a let them out the just make a monkey of me because the wife molly cuddles them, so when a let them out the morra, they will come in nae bother.

 

Is it a good idea or what, what is your views on this. :emoticon-0167-beer:

welcome home, if they have been well fed till now , will do them no harm at all in my opinion .an old neighbour of mine used not feed them at all on a Thursday because of his work pattern ,that was ALL year round and he still won .

Have'nt you heard of fret marks? Assuming the birds are still growing their feathers you will have done them no faviours.

ive never starved my birds but what i dont do is let them out after a feeding.my birds get fed a 5 every night.they have their fill and there is some left over for next morning or whenever but they all know when feeding time is.the only problem ive ever had is on yb's if they stay out after feeding time then they will go hungry.starving your birds for whatever reason can lead to stress.

Stave yourself at the same time least your know what there going through then your know if it's a good idea or not

 

 

I have, and felt better for the next day, i never ate any more than the wife made for me.

Owen, its not the first time i have done this, and have seen no fret marks on the birds i have handled or entered into shows.

They will be fine Dougie but i wouldnae do it too many times before the moult is finished

 

But fae the turn of the new year i dont feed my doos once a week near enough till i pair them..

alan a lad up here tells us he does the same

they only get grit on a sunday

he shows them sometimes and ive not seen fret marks on his birds

dont do this meself, but did read that "Patrick Bros" starve theirs every Sunday after the moult is finishes until pairing up.
