Headed off at 7am with the intention of taking my youngsters over the Forth Bridge for the first time, how ever on the way the sky became heavy with cloud and dark, so I decided just to return to Inverkethen, where they have now been 3 times, so currently sitting waiting on themhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0138-thinking.gif fingers crossedhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/animatedpigeons.gif

Today was supposed to be the first toss for my lot but the rain hasn't halted all day, same tomorrow too so looks like Wednesday before i can get a toss into them.

Its forecast for nice sunny weather Wednesday so i'll just start them at 20mls instead of the usual 12, will go Very early with them in the hope they don't clash en route, same again Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday then into the training van next week before sending to the 2nd race in the program. Plan is then to get them on the van twice a week until race 5 then stop for the season, canny wait tae see the back of it this year.

Mine are on their way for their 3rd toss. Wall to wall sunshine here which I dont like but, going to be a hot one today.

All home in double quick time, shame they couldn't get the 2nd bit right as they flew round for 10 minutes before dropping. 3/4 rations today, see if they can do it right tomorrow.

So far only 2 short training toss of 3miles so far, so what do you think my chances are of making the race this weekend?

the year I was moving down here I never trained the young birds apart from plenty basket training at home and sent them to the first race and only dropped one, would never normally do that but that was an exception so they wre fit enough and used to a basket

Depends how big your fed spans out and if your a deep flier or not, the deeper in the fed you are the more chance you'll get them. I personally wouldn't send them unless I could get another couple of tosses in this week from at least 15 mile.

Hopefully if the weather changes for the better I could take them Today,Wed & Thurs out to 20 miles will have to see after work at 3pm.The fed will have about 5000 birds away and with mines not having been in a training van or with any other birds would this have an effect? Good or Bad?
