We will never know the true amount of Falcons that are in Scotland alone, but one thing is for sure, its ALOT more than the RSPB will ever let us know about!
buster151 Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 within minutes of loosing mine out at least one hawk appears thankfully only lost the 1, 200 yards down the road from me is a bridge full of ferals but never seem to go after them
Tony C Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 The RSPB & other organisations out there actually pay peeps to do bird counts, these must get fed into a database. Is there no way we can legally get hold of the current figures of BOP ?
just ask me Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 The RSPB & other organisations out there actually pay peeps to do bird counts, these must get fed into a database. Is there no way we can legally get hold of the current figures of BOP ? i wouldn't think so as its private data collected by them
Tony C Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 i wouldn't think so as its private data collected by them As its an environmental issue they may have to disclose figures under the freedom of information act.
maverick Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 There are thousands of them mate watched a wildlife progamme on bb2 and the narrator said there were 25 pair of Peregrines in London fookin nightmare Did you notice the bit at the end of programme about the Peregrines feeding at night by street light catching bats that shows how much they are breeding and increasing in population when they find the need to feed at night
b.massey Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 Best thing we can do at the moment is reporting the strikes on website so raptor alliance can gather the hard evidence! We done the country file show to be aired 1 st July 7pm bbc1! Hopefully a step in the right direction to help us change the problem
