Dry and well ventilated loft. Good clean feed and water EVERY day, or twice etc. Regular habbits and a simple system that suits you .... regular.

The better the fancier, the more you listen, remembering everyone has swallows, but these never made a summer. Some HAVE to repeat the same old story about their '......... that should tell you summat.

Get the Loft dry draught free, well ventilated face south.Dont overpopulate, use preventive vaccine,s and put preventive control measures in place.Once that has been undertaken go out and get Quality pigeons and keep searching for better racing stock and dont buy aged stock birds and always remember there is 98% shi-e in every loft. And finally put a system in place that suits you and listen to successfull fanciers, dont over train when you have doubts about their form.

Pigeon Racing can be one of the most difficult things to get right until you work out how to do it. There are some things you can work on though. You can not buy your way to success so persevere with the birds you have got right now. Go and "really look" at the lofts of the best Fanciers you know. Look at the ventilation the access to the sun, the trapping system. Also look at the relationship between the birds and their Boss. Try to identify the best birds and the worst. Forget about the short cuts like success from a bottle or bag. Just feed good quality feed, clean water and fresh grit every day. Do not fall for nonsense like eye sign, wing theory or any of the other rubbish. Work with the birds that fly the best for you and dump any that do not get on with their work regardless of how they are bred. If you patiently do your job as routinely and thoroughly as you should you will soon see results. Mind you if you do things too well you can soon become unpopular because some people do not like a winner in spite of what they say when you are looking at the results sheet from the bottom up.

Your pigeons are athletes not body builders , junkies don't run marathon's , No over weight person wins a a race ;) feed with back of the spoon :) you'l only get as much back as you put in there's a few :)
