geordie1234 Posted August 16, 2011 Author Report Posted August 16, 2011 crap feed less protein fly roundabout and jag my young birds for paratyphoidVery honest answer lol For me it has been a bit off a disapointment first off i let all my cocks out before they were broke by accident so spent a week catching them one at a time at my old house Then nearly every nest only one egg hatched also with the snow etc it took me forever to get my other loft up then i never put the felt on right so that had to be redone in the rain lol with my youngbirds it was kinda stop and start with them i made the mistake off keeping different ages together so they never really got going aswell as i would have liked i dont think. then at the first 5 or 6 tosses i was hit everytime and lost 2 ybs on each toss resulting in only 18 for racing now down to 14 plus 8 unraced youngsters. Next year i will be more prepared for breeding learnt a lot and made a lot off mistakes this year and the youngster i might just take one round or if i take 2 split them until they are flying aswell as each other also after moving to a new house i discovered one off my neighbours are complete c8nts so that didnt help matters But its all good now and look forward to winning a race next year lol
geordie1234 Posted August 16, 2011 Author Report Posted August 16, 2011 Everyone had a perfect season so far then lol

alec guinness Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 Thats my plan have been looking at the yb racing programme/career of the birds that scored in this years national races for ourselves, very interesting reading with a great mix, some latebreds, some unraced some with one or two races, our scottish national silver award winner this year had only crawford as a youngster which is only 40 miles,he has 4 snfc diplomas to date, certainly food for thought. ;)

eastcoaster Posted August 19, 2011 Report Posted August 19, 2011 was told racing in the west was hard ! too fooking right it is , done well enough with my old birds (mostly late breds ) but the yb`s have been a night mare , between ybsickness and hawks (lost 4 in the last 2days around the loft )i am down 30 ybs and they have only been to 110 mls ,can understand why so many pack up because of the fooking percy . i am going to fight back over the winter months . always look on the bright side of life .
