eastcoaster Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Brian,Got to disagree,Its no often I condemn race controllers but they've got it wrong today. A 8:30-9:00 lib would've been perfect for the SNFC :rolleyes:sorry andy but because you don`t give two bollocks about your pigeons most of us do ! what about the boys in the north 8 or 9 lib is no good to them , selfish .colin grieve
WulDon Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 was it not monday last year? SNFC Newbury was a Monday lib last year and turned out a good race with good returns, SNRPC lib at Wanstead Flats on the Friday and got slaughtered!!!
ALF Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 SNFC Newbury was a Monday lib last year and turned out a good race with good returns, SNRPC lib at Wanstead Flats on the Friday and got slaughtered!!! our club had approx 80 doos at newbury last year and we got 12 on the shift and plenty lost aswell so dont know how it was a good race
DJWa Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 our club had approx 80 doos at newbury last year and we got 12 on the shift and plenty lost aswell so dont know how it was a good race yup not a good race up here either birds reported in ireland againif im right i think it was a ne wind that day
blaz Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 i thought newbury last year was an ok race as i got the all the birds i sent and my club mates done ok at it as well.we are on the east cost near Edinburgh. the bird where in a lot better condision than i expected after 5 days in basket.so they where well looked after.
WulDon Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 our club had approx 80 doos at newbury last year and we got 12 on the shift and plenty lost aswell so dont know how it was a good race just speaking about our race in our area, we got full returns... not my fault your birds not good enough!!! the north road pigeons today are notching up speeds of almost 70mph, this indicates the strength of the northerly wind our pigeons would have faced... it would have been a disaster! besides if fanciers listen to the lib line again one of the concerns regarding the wind was if the birds didnt face it then they could have headed across the channel. i'm a happy man that they held, and respect the controllers decision today and put the pigeons first before anything else... I applaud these officials, great job so far.

WulDon Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 Must have been plenty of doos not good enough that day then if thats what you saying as there was plenty missing from newbury last year yip... more sh*te sent these days than quality, then the race controller gets the blame for lossing the sh*te!
blaz Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 the decision not to lib birds today i think was the right one. like has been said their was a chance of birds going across the water with eastbourne sitting right on the coast hear is hoping the wind is not as strong tommorow morning.hope it is not monday race as it would be a lot faster .as some of s that have not got e.t.s will have to take time of work or get someone else to clock birds in.
billy_g Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 every fancier will have put his best to this race we all want a hard even race with the wind we are getting, from the south to the north all doo men want a good race, the snfc dont make many mistakes in this race i think they have got it spot on, iv only 1 away to eastbourne but she has 4 national positions from her last 4 snfc races. all the best to you all
frank-123 Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 good auld jittery jim looks to have made the correct choice today imagine he listened to aw the wind bags on here our birds could have been wiped out will the wind bags die down and give the controllers time and patience to do there job we asked them too do for us
lanarkshire lad Posted June 19, 2010 Report Posted June 19, 2010 good auld jittery jim looks to have made the correct choice today imagine he listened to aw the wind bags on here our birds could have been wiped out will the wind bags die down and give the controllers time and patience to do there job we asked them too do for usGood chance of getting a race tomorrow, but ithink it will still be a tough one with a few empty perches.

ritchie1 Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 birds should be left until tommurrow to late to lib now
newburgh lofts Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 birds should be left until tommurrow to late to lib nowwhy dont you stop moaning and let the race controlers do ther job THESE GUYS DO WILL DO THERE BEST FOR THE BIRDS
WulDon Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 better day on monday maybe so, but if its good today then they'll go... ye might be tough one then that doo racing for ya at times, i do feel for the northerly guys as it reduces there chance of any day pigeons, but controllers are controlloing the entire convoy not just 200 pigeons form Section G... good luck to all when they do eventually go up!
dal2 Posted June 20, 2010 Report Posted June 20, 2010 maybe so, but if its good today then they'll go... ye might be tough one then that doo racing for ya at times, i do feel for the northerly guys as it reduces there chance of any day pigeons, but controllers are controlloing the entire convoy not just 200 pigeons form Section G... good luck to all when they do eventually go up! Spot on. The wind on the forecast seems to be droping none at all here in glorious Dumfries & Galloway. Maybe somebody in the Eastbourne area can give us a verification.
