They can be let out for exercise before being fed. Exercise for around 1 hour. Shouted in as soon as they land.

This is to prevent any possible contact with wild birds or their excrement. Whilst pigeons may not be able to catch avian flu, they can spread it by feet or feathers. :)

Mines will be in for a bit... Just noticed my good hen, timer from Maidstone last year is gone... Must have been nabbed over weekend when out for a stretch.

She was to be my hope for my first gold cup entry this year ....gutted

Well it is a whim of the fancier believing letting them out is needed and for the best.

Was amazed in Canada, and other very successful fanciers who never let them out when the moult starts and 3 or so weeks before enticing a condition for first toss- race.

Sorry to hear that john

Mine won't be out till mid march at earliest because of hawks and temperature

No races to be won at this time of year so better kept in ,only my opinion

As I get older also have a dislike for cold days 😂

Would like mine out earlier but as usual I'll wait til last wk in March or early April. Letting them out earlier I think I'm asking for trouble. Should get price here about end of april start of may then birds can go on open loft when not training. Hope this helps young/ new fanciers!
