My brother in law who isn't a pigeon man been working on a few photos of some of my best birds, this is a before and after shot of the edit This Slatey hen is line bred to Frank Taskers famous Olympiad, the sire being a direct son, and the dam being a granddaughter, so Uncle to Niece pairing. She has a number of prizes in club and federation but at London North Road Combine Level she has a 8th, 11th and 50th Open from 306 miles to 510 miles

  4. most race programmes start around April 14th, you want your birds to be fit flying around the loft well before this, before you can think of training.

  12. if there is traces of undigested grain in the droppings it would indicate hypermotility of either one or both of the pigeons stomachs(proventriculus and ventriculus). Which usually indicates that they have some form of infection or inflammation. Now inflammation of this area can be signs of many things such as Salmonella, coccidiosis, worms, e.coli, yeast, herpes, hexamita and chlamydia. So i would suggest if you rate the bird, do the best thing and get the birds droppings analysed, if you do not rate the bird and its the only one ill, its nature way of telling you survival of the fittest.
  13. You must make the birds feel it is autumn/ winter time, so they should shed there feathers, this is all done by the hours of light. Too much hours of light and the birds think its spring/summer and they wont moult. Hence why thr darkness system works so well as we trick the youngsters it is autumn/winter so they must moult. And the yb specialists after coming of the dark extend the daylight in the loft so the birds do not moult come the big races in September, when the natural light is getting less.

    Wim De Troy

A guy in the midlands i believe his name is Andy Darby, did have a lot of directs i couldnt tell ya if he raced them or not. I suspect alot of midlands flyers have tried them from Wim, as those that travel to the continent there favourite place to stop was Berlaar. Wim is a very good middle distance fancier and regularly sells pigeons on pitts

  23. Defiantly my feelings Tony....on a personal note ive found after a bout of young bird sickness generally the big form will hit in the young bird loft....now thats a statement that will throw the cat among the pigeons so to speak.
  24. Well done my son
