Billy, I like to use one of or a combination of the 5-nitro-imidazole family, which are highly effective, however I do try to alternate which ones I would use.

I am similar to tony, however I do treat for a canker but a maximum 3 times a year, when on eggs, 3 weeks before the season and at the end of the season.

I use coconuts ones, as they breath and can easily be washed and used time and time again, also bugs do not like them.

For widowhood I like the clay ones. I like the ones that are very deep, before I only had a few, but I conducted an auction and obtained 18 deep deep ones of the fancier that where all handmade and before the last war. For stock I like the German type with the mesh netting as I like a good air flow around the nests.
