  1. Must admit, I don't think the service is anything to crack on about, you generally find the smaller the company the better the service. I must of made at least 20 calls to B&R to question the installation of my Benzing M1 only to be told by the female recipient that I would be called back later.----------------still waiting.

    jm couriers

Roof Pigeon, Absolutely correct in what your saying about these couriers spending time on the road and cost of fuels etc. I know of one courier who delivers nearly every day of the week and very rarely gets home. I have known him to travel miles to pick up one pigeon, where's the profit in that. ? I think he's away from home so much, he's forgotten his wifes and kids names so I fully agree, "give em' a break".
  3. Age ? what's that ?. We can't afford to age mate to keep these youngsters on their toes. Over ?0, JUST.
  4. My loft is some 24' from my house, and my pigeons do not land on the house. You must control them through their stomach. When my youngsters start flying, I let my old hens out with them who have been through the ropes before and they will teach the youngsters to drop directly from the sky onto or into the loft. With the ETS, if ever I get a pigeon with someone else's, I can assure you, when the clocks are read, they'll be behind.
  5. Difficult to access any ET clocking system with a fair view, unless youv'e seen them all. Myself, I have a Benzing M1 now I know Benzing are a good clock manufacturer and in the past I used a Benzing orange case which was faultless. Must admit I am struggling to set this one up ( coupling ET rings to registration rings ) but when I do, I know it will be a good servant. I have only seen two other clocks, the Bricon and the Tauris and of the two, I prefer the Bricon.

  7. Had a pigeon dive into my loft which I reported. I arranged for transport via Pigeon Express. The pigeon was delivered safely after 7 weeks of me caring for it and trying to get it home and I've still not heard from the fancier who's bird it was and it's been a month or so ago since being returned. That's what puts people like myself off from reporting pigeons. I know fanciers are not all the same but and awful lot are.
  8. I was involved in the Miners strike in the times of Heath and Thatcher and those that crossed the picket lines will always be remembered as "Scabs," they will go to their graves with the tag and just remember, they cost people their jobs who were fighting for better pay and working conditions for everyone and the "Scabs" will always leave a sour taste in the minds of many. Anyway, I prefer to talk about pigeons.
  9. Good job you didnae give your talk doon heere they woodnae been able to understand yae. Pm me your home address or if you prefer, put it on the forum.
  10. Nice one Wiley, pigeons will take a back seat now, especially when it comes to " Scraping Out" lol. good luck mate. Regards to Mum.
  11. I have always thought that it was something to do with the feather texture of a white /white based pigeon that led to people feeling that a white coloured pigeon was inferior. I have always preferred a Bl, Red, Ch etc in the hand over a white pigeon myself. Just look at the pigeon " VIRGO " pure white so again it could be down to peoples preferences.

    Best Pigeon

Dicky Darky, Nice to know about other great pigeons, there was also a hen called "Grizzelda" there at that time amongst others that I can't remember the name of ( getting old ) but they all made you glow inside with a feeling that's difficult to explain and a pleasure to be involved in this wonderful sport. Looking through this thread the Ron Williamson pigeon "Ron-Ville Millenium Superstar" with regards to performance must be the best ever to have lived I would of thought. Most certainly the best I know about now. I don't know how others would perceive the " best performance " . but all in all, terrific pigeons.

    Best Pigeon

High Frank, Yes it was a Scottish National winner, a beautiful Mosaic Cock. There were many top pigeons at that time all under one roof another lovely Cock was "Great Future" of which I bought a son and he never bred me anything worth keeping but maybe that was down to me.

    Best Pigeon

What is the best pigeon you've ever seen or handled ? I remember visiting Massarella in the late 50s early 60s and on show in the stock section and which I handled was a pigeon called "High Noon". This pigeon has always stayed with me in my mind, completely ( in my opinion ) out of this world.
  17. Johnny11, Can't understand how we missed you. Yes, still very busy and fully booked and the Norfolk people still stay there and through that we've made some cracking friends. Can't wait for next weekend.
  18. Johnny11, Hi mate, couldn't agree more, best entertainment in town and Buddy IS still there and the good thing about it is when the show is over there's a disco if you want it and then you climb the stairs to bed. As you know, people that want to watch the show, come to the end door at the front of the hotel and for a fiver ( used to be ) they can get in and have a good night. Be nice to see some members there.
  19. Viking Hotel for me and the wife again.

    A Bit Late

We all wonder where our birds get to when they don't make it home so imagine the suprise of a Welsh fancier that I related this story to. I was watching my birds excercise at 10:45am last week and spotted the smallest of dots in the sky which I thought was " Percy ". This dot must have been something like a mile in the sky and at least half a mile from my loft. It closed it's wings as though it had been shot and dived through my open door onto my ETS pad and through the bob hole in what only can be descibed as seconds. I rushed up the garden thinking the worse to find a lovely Welsh Cheq C still rubbered up. He'll be sent home next week. Wish my widow cocks would trap like that but why do our feathered friends continue to amaze us ?
  21. How about "It's What You Make It" sounds good to me anyway but then I'm easily pleased.

From Bert Braspenning, I recently posted a reply I had from him, a quarter of an Aspirin tablet 4/7 days before pairing. says it works but havn't tried it yet.
  23. Have got one in my front garden which I can hear. Either side of me are troubled with cat mess on their front lawns. Mine is as clear as a bell and has been for the four years I've had it so I suppose it does work.
  24. Happy birthday Rose, keep em' coming. have a nice day.
  25. I've just had an early Christmas prezzie from a forum member who wouldn't like to be named so thankyou very much Tony C lol. Merry Christmas all.
