Agree with Roland, the longer their kept as prisoners, the harder to settle. How many times have you got a stray pigeon in, fed it and kept it overnight, sent it on a trainer towards it's home the next day, only to see it return to your loft. On average I would say two weeks, depending on the incentives the pigeons have to stay with you.

Iv'e got the Benzing M1 but because I'm the only one in the club who has ETS I havn't used it yet so can't say. I've heard it's the best ET system but each to his/her own. There are people in my club swinging to ET so will probably be able to comment further later in the season. I have also been reading about pigeons being missed when hitting pads so something not quite right there.

Kent Cosmo Fed from Lyndhurst, up at 10am light Easterly. Heavy mist here but sun trying to break through.

Kent Cosmopolitan Fed at Lyndhurst. Bit concerned about the weather so kept my yearlings off. I think the forecast is overcast with scattered showers. The concern for me as well, is the strong ENE wind. Could be a few empty perches on the night.

Pigeon Man, I was told evryone was waiting for the Benzing M1 ETS rings. Now both my daughter and self have been in Touch with B@R several times and repeatedly told 10 days. Today, I was told two weeks from my last enquiry which was about 8/9 days ago. We shall see.

Boddy and Ridewood. My Dtr ordered me 40 ETS rings for my Benzing M1 before Christmas. Still waiting. Have made several phone calls and have always been told 10 days delivery. Today I was told 2wks. What a terrible service and she told me, EVERYONE was waitng for them. Can anyone confirm that ? Shame I don't live a little nearer to them. Blood rather on the warm side.

I have a little Bl C here in my loft that had exactly the same symptoms. This pigeon was almost dead on his feet. He couldn't stand up.I picked him up and turned him upside down and gently,very gently, squeezed his crop to flush him out and then gave him a course of Old Hand sour crop tablets. He's repaid me since and is now in the stock loft. His name ? The Sour Crop cock. The tablets really do work. I think this cock,had picked up something in the garden.

Couldn't agree more, fortunate enough to have had a holiday with them in 06 super people as were the rest of the party we were with. I don't suppose I can count on two fingers the amount of nasties I've met in our sport but I might be lucky.

The word "willing" has been removed from the RPRA rule and to my way of thinking, you can only get competant by using the ETS.

Have these strong wings caused any damage to any of our lofts. Trellis on mine had a 45 degree tilt but got up on the loft roof and secured it whilst the wind had calmed. Wind gaining momentum again. If we have a tail ender like this in the racing season it will probably be the highest velo ever.

Have not used them myself, but other fanciers rave about the use of smoke bombs in the loft and you don't have to remove the pigeons. Apparently they clear quite a few of the little nasties but as I say have not used them myself.
