I drove along the sea front at 9:45ish and could see the coastline of France a distance of 21mls away. We had a terrific downpour of rain for about 3mins in the morning and then the day turned out good. Our birds were at Lyndhurst 133mls and doing well over 1800ypm and when you get races like that, it's hard to understand what goes wrong elsewhere in similar conditions although over a greater distance. I would think the damage was done before they crossed the channel.

Kent Cosmo are up at 9:15 in a WSW wind from Lyndhurst 133mls to me.

Nr Dover, Grey skies and looks like rain. Westerley wind.

Our club winner was doing 1264 from Poitiers 324ml.

Kent Combine up at Poitiers at 7am. Just got back from the UNC lib at Folkestone. All birds cleared within 2/4 mins. Coming back home along the coast, channel looks slightly hazy but nothing I think that would hold the birds up.

Clear skies here Nr Dover. Heavy skies across the other side of the channel but sun trying to break through above. Channel crystal clear with a breezy SW wind. Good luck to all racing today.

Full grey skies here nr Dover and raining with a North Westerly wind. Channel looks pretty grim. Hoping things brighten up later to give us a chance from Lyndhurst.

Two years ago I had a pair of Kavanagh Buss from Ken. sadly I had to dispose of the cock but not before he reared me four youngsters, one which I lost as a baby. I'm left with 3 cocks and one won Le_Mans for me last year as a yearling and 3wks ago, he won our longest inland race. taking 1st Sec, 2nd Fed and up in the Combine. One from one Le-Mans. What looked possibly a good race at the start of the day, turned into a struggle. Strange race quite a few missing.

Just shows how the wind can effect the result with changes along the way from across the channel. Alencon up in a NE, Le-Mans up in a light SSW and here at the home end it's NW but almost a still day.
