I have a 2' corridor. My pad is inside the loft on the front of a sliding door, with bob wires at the back. So when the pigeon times, it is not confined unless they go through the bob wires into the loft proper and where they can't get out. To conform and for my own peace of mind, what I shall do now is to put a removable frame that will hold the pad inside the sliding door and the birds will go through the bob wires before timing therefore being confined.

How you all getting on with training. Been fortunate enough to get 6/7 tosses in with the weather being slightly kinder to me than others further North.

I think Benzing The M1 is in my opinion expensive but nevertheless a good clock. The Benzing G2 on offer surely is too good to refuse. I'm a bit wary of Unicon hearing about constant updates and that a club close to me has been charged £65 to cover insurance for Unicon equipment on loan so I'm lead to believe. The other clocks in my club are the Bricon and the Mega system and to be honest we havn't had any trouble with any of them once we sorted the initial basic installation out.

I had my Benzing M1 bought for me and am very grateful for it. Also the back up from Jim and Joan Savage on here has been second to none. If anyone is thinkihg of an ETS then the Benzing G2 offer, on at the moment, is too good not to grab. IMO

i certainly wouldnt risk the corn having all the vits and minerals they need during breeding. but everyone to there own. VM, Think you mis read me. I didn't say ALL vits and MINS, I said SUFFICIENT. Should others be required then I think they could be added through the drinker and the very best product i know for that is the Rhonfried product Gerwit W but as you rightly say, everyone to their own. -

Obvious one youngster is getting fed less than the other or hatched over a day later than the other. When you feed the old birds, take the biggest youngster away and watch the parents feed the small youngster, then put the big one back and watch them feed that. Do that for a week or so and I would be very suprised if the small one dosn't make up. The other reason of course is that the small one could be the hen or is ailing. Minerals should not make any difference to the different size of the youngsters. In my case, they never get any minerals. I think it gives them the squirts and they get sufficient minerals and vitamins in the corn mixes we have today. -
I was a good friend of Colin and both the wife and I stayed at his home on a few occasions. Pigeons always came before anything else and he once told me that if any pigeon that he raced did not appear in the first three to his loft by the end of the season, it would not be wintered. sadly I've only just heard that his wife Jean passed on around Christmas time. Frank Perruzi was another friend and cracking flyer, some competition between the two there.

Got home this morning at 2am from another good night, the highlight of which was helping the highest prize winner in Club and Fed and 3rd highest Combine to lift his box full of trophies across the room to his car. Too much for one person to carry and that was without the prize money. A very big well done to our long standing member on here and a good friend TONYC.

Not worth talking about here, awful.

Pigeons are so quick to recover and at a first glance you wouldn't think the pigeon had anything taken out of him because he's so glad to be home. I think over the next two or three days it would show if it was hurting or not and that would be my decider. I remember I had a red cock who on arriving at home was wobbling on his perch for the whole day for the amount of effort he had put in. Although looking good on the outside later, he never fully recovered.

My cocks flew to their box last year never seeing a hen and didn't dissapoint me and I didn't really know what I was doing with them. This year I am racing the same but I have been fortunate to get some info on it so hopes are higher.

The thing I would say about Boddy and Ridewood is that their after sales are bismal. You have to constantly be on at them and that shouldn't be.

if your'e looking for a hoover, would suggest the one called " Henry ". Had mine for years and in the moult, it's my best friend. Clears dry droppings as well. Well worth the £99 I paid. I suppose you could get one virtually given from a boot fair.

Firstly I suppose the question is, has anybody tried all the systems mentioned? and which in their opinion is the best? Surely you don't know until youv'e trid it. I am deperately wanting to get into the celibate system with cocks for down the coast but there dosn't seem to be much information floating about on here or people are keeping quiet.
-
A good celibate system for the birds. I tried it last year with some success but I'm sure it was more luck than judement so if anyone can point me in the right direction then I would be grateful. I can then race the cocks along the coast and the hens over the water.
