    Anybody Tell

A few of my friends on here have said the same but it was sent to me as a hen this year as a 3yr old so I may have been conned. Must say I put it in a box with a cock and it went crackers spinning around but I pray it's a hen.

    Looking Good

Thank you Old Yellow, Pd C Done a bit of damage but not as good as the Bl C but I do think the Pd C looks well for an 8yr old. Also at this time of year if there not lookin good then then dos't say a lot about us.
  8. Here are two of my old Busschaert racing cocks now retired to the stock loft both having topped the Fed for me.

    Newcastle United

If they want a manager, they can have Avram Grant on a free and take the squad, ( all but Scott Parker )with them.
  10. Hit it on the head David. If you're in a good loft position, you could win with below average pigeons and it's been proved over the years. Now if your'e in a bad spot and win out of turn, then you have good pigeons managed by an excellent fancier and I know which of the two I would sooner buy from.
  11. the best cider vinegar i believe is http://www.ostlersci...er-Vinegar.html cloudy and very strong Must agree, have used Apple Cider Vinegar on and off for a few seasons but the best I've seen and am using at the minute is "Ostlers". Well worth a read up on.
  12. Never used BUTANOX but I am a Creoste/Oil man. No need to but I treat my lofts and garden shed annually. Don't like Varnish seen too much of it cracking and peeling.
  13. Do you remember your first race, how long ago, where from, breed of pigeon, colour, sex. A topic helping to get us through these winter months. My own first race was from Chichester, 53 years ago. It was a lovely Bl Wft H and it was my first ever race on my own and it was the first YB race of the season. When I saw her coming, my heart jumped out of my chest. It was bred from two strays, a 6yr old Belgium splashed Mealy C and a 3yr old Bl H from the Cotswolds that had dropped in whilst flying the National. Owners had told us to keep em' and that was the result. She topped the Fed by a clear 3mins. Difficult to forget that. So do you think that is a good advert for crossing.? To this day, never knew what breed of pigeon they were.

    What Next

Fancier being told by RSPB that pigeons cannot be released at West Canvey Nature reserve after it was said the sport was cruel. Think it's about time that all the Blackpool takings were put into our own pot to hire a legal team and get on top of this before it escalates. As for me, I'm carrying on as normal.
  18. Just found out ours have been held at Lynhurst. Those that are up, I wish you well.
  19. I have an external landing board for my youngsters. They land on it and drop through one of four holes set in a framework and onto the ETS pad. These holes are 4" apart and set at a 45 degree angle. Once their in, they cannot get out because in their attempt to do so, they have to use their wings and the bob holes being only 4" wide, makes escape impossible.
  20. For a change, full grey skies and light drizzle here in the South East of England.

    First Trainer

Would you let your youngsters out before you take em' training.? Start my first trainer with the youngsters tomorrow. They have just started ranging over the last three days. Not flying for too long, maybe 20mins at most but going very well. Notice on here, a lot of people losing young en's. Starting at 15mls and fingers crossed. Nice day forecast so if they go off track, should be OK to work back if they've got the sense.
  22. Pigeons crossing the English Channel should be OK, looks clear, with high broken white clouds and a strong S/Wester.
