  1. All for the wrong reasons. At a time, when we are ardently seeking and trying to keep fanciers, let alone enticing others to join our sport, we have this. http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/champion-pigeon-racer-in-scandal-after-winning-bird-from-south-of-france-was-found-to-have-never-left-oxfordshire-loft/ar-BBv1gZ4?ocid=spartandhp Talk about no such thing as 'Bad Publicity ...
  2. No doubt true Walter, but then we are referring to Pigeon fanciers ... Mind in light of the NFC cheat
  3. Used to replace the rubbers ... A school boy who had access to a school computer that tracked the space launchers and comets etc. - before WE, America and the Russians Offered many services, like having anything you wanted delivered and paid for. Car Incenses etc. Even bank accounts inputs of money told me Anything electrical etc. can be got at. If not straight off, very soon after and as one loop hole is closed another will open. I believe it! Indeed the school computer was tracked down and the class room locked down and only opened if 2 or more teachers were present. Gosh I wonder what he is upto now!
  4. I believe it too Delboy.
  5. Lol .... would then be in the S#### :emoticon-0136-giggle:
  6. One fancier will see in minutes - and act - what another won't see in a life time. I very much believe this. A top Belgium fancier living Canada once said to me 'Cream always come to the top.... and one knows if a new fancier will ever be any good within the first 2-3 years'. He also states that in every sport Men have more strength, speed etc. than women ... and it is the same with Pigeons'. He'll then go on regard horses and dogs etc. Now I personally STILL favour hens for distance and hard races... Indeed even on widowhood. I find hens to be far more genuine.
  7. One must remember also that when the flights are well down the bird has a lot more energy etc. - Like a lady about to give birth. Time of when a flight is three quarters the way up is best apparently.
  8. True... Plus then there are costs involved. Costs most can't afford.
  9. Personally, I believe, there must be 2 different cartographies surely. One. Judged (unfairly) on performances / wins etc. There are, and could be many, reasons why this is so, and not necessarily because they are a good fancier. Two. Another fancier may not win much. Or even care much about winning! BUT their' birds are stress free. Well looked after and mostly in prime condition. Indeed loved. They are surely GOOD fanciers. Now, if means and ability are able, then a REAL good fancier has both. Likewise number two may also have many reason that can mean they have harder trials to over come.
  10. No more need be said eh!

    Question

I used to say that winning say, say like the Up North Combine, was harder than winning a National. 3 -4-5 -6 times even the amount of birds than a National .... ALL heading same way. Like Antwerp where they come over flying low to one area! Quickest clocker - better management? - wins. Nationals spread out to different sections etc. over a wide scan. So I'd say a section even win even, in a national if by far harder to achieve. JMO.
  12. Said it before, just a few weeks back, that Laura Muir epitomises what I believe is, and should be what the Scots are … How could any sports person in the U.K. not be proud of her performances. Even her tremendous feats when running the 3000 metres etc. and other distances not – supposedly – her fortitudes. Last night I shouted myself hoarse at the telly. What sheer guts and determination as she broke the British record held previously by Kelly Holmes. I think she is fearless but realistic and a credit to British sport. Yes another great Scottish athlete of so many. Yes I had tears in my eyes and banged the arms of the settee lol. http://thepowerof10.info/athletes/profile.aspx?athleteid=19602
  13. 129.000 died so the USA / Britain could show Stalin they were still top dogs. http://www.history.com/topics/world-war-ii/bombing-of-hiroshima-and-nagasaki ... To end a war already ended 2 months! No profit in peace .... what does it matter how many die? 2071 nuclear bombs have been exploded ... and that's not counting the vast amount let off in space.
  14. Aye ... But the Sturgeon says you lot will stay in the Euro lol.
  15. Because a pigeon with good constitution is able to fight it and win . Crap / incest and those kept and treated away from the normal can't! Yes they may well be carriers not effected ... Hence in the baskets sharing water poorly kept and amazingly sanctioned those go down with it ... and their off spring etc. etc. So best if one has trouble time again is to look at the constitution of their birds and act accordingly. Indeed MOST birds will still get it, only those not up to par are affected etc. So it pays to inject good constitution birds as they carry, but are able to over come and not even show any ailments even.
  16. Attached Image That makes sense mate ... so will never happen. there is no profit n peace, so ....
  17. How many countries have the Nuclear Bob? How many has there been set off since 1945?... after the first one in Mexico? I think we ought to tell these suicide bombers if we catch them we will bring back the death penalty! Great deterrent or what. Russia is only 20 miles from the U.S.A. SO could send those 1000 odd nuclear missile to explode in their own back garden ... Wouldn't do the USA any good, nor bragging rights, threatening to send the 1000 and more of theirs in retaliation eh! As for North Korea they will keep getting paid not to set theirs off ... if they have any lol. Like Attila the Hun blackmailing the Roman empire all over again lol.
  18. Remember like giving a dog Parva injections ... Mongrels carry it without any ill affects ... passing it onto 'Pedigrees' that jabbing makes no difference. If a 'Pedigree dog' gets it then most like high bills and then a very large % die.
  19. Personally I believe - rightly or wrongly - that a dead vaccine is useless and not very effective, may be wrong, -(I thought I was wrong once... turns out I was wrong in thinking I was wrong lol). Mind I know, as many more on here know, that many, indeed too many don't eject. Hence maybe this is also a large % of why. Think like this belief in Live Yogurt. By the time it get on the shell it would be dead... If dead, then no flipping good! If dead....! Maybe good for another reason, maybe like it gives the bird a shine of good health, true or false. Likewise with Pro Bacteria etc. - Arte we plonking rubbish into our birds willy - nilly to make money for unscrupulous . Is it no more than a good feel factor, and because a 'Name' get paid to advertise it! Now like Polio - the most successful vaccine out side of Small Pox, When thought it was irradiated, and stopped being given, it raised it's ugly head with a vengeance! So I believe many are to blame in not giving their' birds the jab each year, which only serves to strengthen Parra...
  20. A world renowned vet - Avian and attender of many big meets etc. Emailed a few short years back saying, Inject every time for Parra regardless. In Canada many jab twice in the nest and within 6 weeks they have had 3 jabs ... Now how many and what % I wouldn't ascertain a guess. I know, like most, many fanciers, (too many!?) just sign the dotted line for each other as they feel it is a waste of time. They quote Belgium it is only required to do once etc. (Don't recall it being different now, but could be wrong). That even after 7 years it will still show up as Para... Me, safer than sorrier and if it doesn't work wonders DOES it do any harm? I know there is a jury out about ...
  21. Gulkie do you have greyhounds?
  22. True bigda. About all that they are worthy of. However one can buy scores dirt cheap at any Fur and Market.
  23. Yeah ... till a cat drops on it's back and claws away at it's eyes. Electric fence running twin or triple wires accounts for any nuisance.
  24. Incest breeding weakens the body and immune system.... and Constitution. Hence deteriating in a downward spiral. Nature shows us time and time again ... but then ...
