    Beans Maize

I was told same John. Saw them dribble over Black tic - bics etc. But read a very good article that it is tish. It was thought that black meant fat reduction etc. Fat is exactly the same. May lose a little natural oil, which isn't good as birds get all their oils etc. from their feed. May be I will sort the out sometime and put it up. Cooks Farm Leicester haven't any yet (Well hadn't last Monday) ... But at £6 25p per 25 K are a good bean at the good price.
  2. As for Geoff Cooper etc. I know that's true. Also J. Peters' and a few others said same at a moot I was at. You know, like I said before 'Just why would any company / concern want to fins a cure? Fancier and buying stacks willy - nilly and giving their' products massive sales. Any thing and every thing it looks like.
  3. Lol you can live in hope there then John ... too busy insinuating that any one who doesn't get it is a liar.
  4. Yep, a very large %cent. Like wise Para Stop / Para kill an pre ANTI Salmonella WHATEVER that is. etc. etc. MANY. MANY lofts do this EVERY season, NO TWO ways about that! P.s I don't. But have many told me too. Yes big Fancier to boot at that. Indeed some even advertise that they have done it to induce some one to buy!
  5. True, but seldom now, if ever done ... or even thought of.

    All Gone

Ones still here won't make it to S. Africa or where ever. They have left ... Mind maybe the weather will change enough now from a few years back.
  7. Well if a Fed bought it ... who would qualify to have it for their pigeon(s) ... We have at least 3 who send over 50 birds each race IN THE CLUB let alone other members... ... which one to be chosen. Even a bigger headache for larger organisations. JMO
  8. Another thought here ... You know it beggars belief that all too often, our stalwarts, those elected as our overseers and guardians often do more harm, and knowingly, than good. No profit in curing is a very well known fact. Have held a thought .. on no knowledgeable basis, just my own views and thoughts - that it isn't in the interests of the drug/ aids concern to bring out as to what and why there is y/b's sickness, or remendies ... Why? Only one answer to why, which in this case I believe, that they have far more profit from fanciers buying and using umpteen different so - call remedies than they ever would cure it completely. Now I needn't see any posts saying 'Nah you must be bonkers (etc.) they wouldn't do that to make money....etc.' History proves and every day such cases come out that greed does do as such and regularly!
  9. How true, good, realistic and common sense post that. ... I often spout such on here. Birds must be helped sometimes, no doubt and obviously ... BUT most importantly allowed as and when possible to build up it's own immunity.
  10. Well surprised, surprise. No one know or Care. Surely they must be a answer ... One of three, four or more... They don't get it - why? They get a little and nothing said, WHY? or They treat it. B they cure it... How? Surely some one knows or has an opinion!
  11. racing concerns have trouble with y/bs sickness.? If they don't then why not? If they do, do they treat if so ... or let them run it's course ? If they treat it then what with?
  12. Seems now that the ails of the one loft races are starting world wide. Read this on the Canadian Classic. Copied and now pasted. Had the only day bird at the Silvercreek Quad 300 mile first leg on Monday , subsequently 4 other birds made it home the next day in race time , nearly 7 to 12 hours behind. Big win right ,? i guess not. Received some very disturbing news this morning , was informed that Management of the Silvercreek Quad race made a decision to cancel the race and return the activation fee to all participants after consulting with the rest of the flyer , real smart bunch aren't they??. Being 6 to 12 hours behind me if I was in their shoes I would join them as well. Its a lose , lose situation for me , the rules even states that 10% of the total prize money would be paid to the top 10 birds on the individual 300 mile races . This will not happen if everyone gets their activation fee back . There are 5 birds still in the race , they should complete the race as per the rules or if they chose to cancel the race , pay the money to the 5 winners. All i am asking for them to follow their own rules , nothing more nothing less !!! when i mentioned that to the race Management I was told that the rest of the birds will need 2 to 3 weeks to recuperate and there is not time left to do that , as the rule states that the 4 races will be held with in 30 days. I guess they follow rules when convenient. I feel this is not my problem , also gave them fair warning re; posting on FB , i asked them to post a ruling before 6pm or i would go ahead with this, nothing was posted on their behalf , 7.40 pm now , I kept my word.. Perfect example of ; , did not like the way the game was going , took their ball and went home. Very Sad and very poor business acumen. I am sure none of this would of happened if one of the Big name US flyer friends was in my situation, obvious as the first update after the race was just excuses , no congratulations or mention of the winner . If the race goes ahead now , can i trust them that my bird will be fed or even released as a matter of fact??Need less to say , I will not be part of this race in the future if it survives.
  13. Sorry to hear Lindsay... join the club lol. But whiskey is a boon to the cold. NO not drunk, but a tad rubbed (Any alcohol really I guess) on the feet. Scotch Whiskey could be best ... as it's cheap lol.

Well Geordie on that thesis one should never have any success with training ... certainly not any singling up. Or is one saying that one needs more than a 114 so that there is one or two to show the rest the way home?
  15. Thanks Ian. Looks like there is a lot in common.
  16. Careful Ian you will be accused of fibbing ... As to why one should be fibbing remains another mystery. As for my, though never had have it, I would be interested as to what, why and how your mate goes about it. Maybe he does some things the same as me. Take it as read I certainly wouldn't boo - hoo it.

Well will be interesting to see what they do. Personally I think that EVERY person that sent should get a full refund. Think maybe just them that had birds in that race will. 2 -3 -4 BIRDS they should get full refund on 2 - 3 - 4 birds like.
  18. Seems to be a problem that fanciers may have brought onto themselves. Must be a time when comparisons are made to past times and then 'What changes' may have brought this plague on. This can be many things of course. Likewise loses! Is there a connection here? I am very much old school granted in many ways true and as many know haven't been able to participate as one would like. However, as some have posted here, some loft likewise still contact the dreaded ailment. Can companies really not be able to dissect and find the route cause? I very much doubt this! Maybe it isn't in their interest to cure as Many, very many other aspects are bout and maybe they make more money on them. Like I say, No profit in peace nor curing. So if every year more and more is spent ... This I find
  19. What a good post. Maybe that is the right move start. Breed later and race into September I think would also be a great help.
  20. Ditto, in that I've never had it ... It never ceases to amaze me that one can insulted and call one a liar because they tell the truth. FACT is MANY have never had y/b's. Must be a lame excuse high lighting ones inferiority complex.

MNFC ONE LOFT RACE Due to the many inconsistencies surrounding the above race and the preparation for the actual race, the Management Committee of the MNFC will be holding a meeting, in the very near future, to investigate the problems that occured and to decide on the remedial actions that are to be taken. The outcome of this meeting will be published on this Website and hopefully in the Fancy Press as soon as possible after the meeting has taken place. Roy Jones - President MNFC Then below.... But I don't think for a moment this is / was the One loft Race. MNFC Coutances YB Flash Report D & J Hawkins & Evans Look Like Taking The Top Spot At 9.00am on Sunday the 18th September 2016 the final race of the season the 4,000 plus convoy of young birds were released after a one day holdover due to the strength of the North North Westerly wind on the channel throughout the day on the Saturday. This seemed to be to the dissatisfaction of a few but surely the decision made by the Club following long and protracted discussions with the weather experts and the fact that there is a MNFC rule in place (22.7) that the action taken was the correct one. And credit should be given for the decision.
  22. So, at seasons end, throughout the so called dormant months, the birds in the lofts are all thought to be clean and in good health free condition. .... Then these healthy birds breed pigeons that contract y/b's sickness. How? More importantly why?! I hear, and it must have a bearing of truth, that after y/b's many race them through with great success etc. Which I personally don't doubt for a moment. Are we to say then that healthy birds are breeding inferior birds with poor constitutions? For a fact, at some time birds are healthy going to the races ... Indeed it has to be some thing out side of the races that one can place the blame ... Kyleakin Lofts regards Old time as I have posted before certainly bears some merit... Otherwise inferior will, or are breeding MORE inferior birds.
  23. Where? It is all very well stating that pigeons catch it from others in the Race panniers, drinkers passing it on etc. BUT they - some originally obviously - had it to have it first to take into the panniers! Many believe it is airborne. Stress related. If airborne then NIGH all would have it... certainly those suspect to it ... then like a cold, nigh all folks have a touch of it -(different strains affect different people differently) so some have the symptoms and suffer, others take no notice. Maybe those birds with good constitution aren't affected? If stress then the onus would have to be down to the management. Then again many go down with it in lofts that don't, or haven't, sent their' birds to any races, or even trained.
  24. Resent mate. First one may have gone into you Email Junk mail. This one to Pigeon Basics. Good luck mucker.
