You should see the egg starting to form from the 3rd day after the second egg is laid, you only need to hold it up to any bright light to see the formation, some times one egg will show before the other if the hen actually incubates even say half a day before the second egg is laid. Re. patching up a egg I used to do it with a little touch of nail varnish but depends where the bash is as it may interfere with the chic chipping out of the egg, and as you know the egg is porous so don't overdo the varnish.

Lanarkshire Fed has 13 old bird races this year, not many will finish the programme. PS I miss the pelters I got on Saturday nights, thinking of re-applying for my old job back ? LOL
