Good race programme, the fed and Nat., cant be at the same distance same weekend Fed will lose birdage, been proved in the past.

Alf, the ybs were heldover several days, I think 3/4 maybe then lib. in broken cloud sunny but in a N/W wind. Y/Bs wont face a cold wind even with a good sky. My Norwest hen was at this race, she came a week after it, went on to win in Rennes & Avranches not to mention bred some of my good Nat birds.

I bred them, I bought a Siberian cock which was a cinnamon carrier cost a few bob in those days bred it with little bully hen and won a special at the Yorkshire B.B & Mule club, a long time ago. the show the was in Doncaster. still here them before u see them. There short lived, same as the redpolls. Cheers

I have used avidress for a year now I think its especially good for ybs, I would advise starting away giving it at half strength for a week or so the gradually increasing it to the recommended dose. Anything which prevents the use or indeed cuts down the use of antibiotics is a step in the right direction.

Over the last two years these sprint birds have won for me many good club & Fed positions inc. 3 x 1st open Lanarkshire Fed.They are Van Dorps Rotterdam NL, Hereman / Coussters, Geerinckx mainly from Taylor Bros Newbiggin-By-The-Sea, Brian Johnston Doncaster & The Drapa Hen from Mick McMurchie. This year in particular I am completely over run with prisoner stock birds and as result I have decided to reduce these Van Hannahs, All the prisoner stock birds have been returned to the Taylor Bros and I cant thank them enough for the use of them these past few years. I now have no prisoners here what so ever. I can now offer to the sport the winning birds I bred from them. I have retained two pairs only which are flying out here. I will put them on basics early tomor night. there are 16 birds inc. the double Fed winner and the 1st Fed Wetherby hen along with other fed prize winners and family. regards Van Hannah.

Garlic inhibits the growth of good bacteria as well as the bad bugs, used it years ago but don't use it anymore.

Its only been done once Derek that was at Bathgate I believe, nowadays I don't think it go down to well with the members.
