  1. I think its fair to say the Airdrie proposition (as its reffered to) was wrongly dated mistakenly, and has caused friction among the members.I don't know if its possible if the president has the power to call a special general meeting or indeed a emergency general meeting with a single agenda re.the two propositions and allow both proposers to submit if they wish a rider to their original propositions.I think this would be in the best interest to Lanarkshire Federation.
  2. I would if interested in something in particular
  3. Well Davie, if the proposers get the required signatures they may well can have another meeting to clear up their mess.
  4. Hope so Dunc.
  5. Met Paul Swindell way back in the late eighties along with the late Erick McLoughlin I believe it was in a pub in Lisburn I think we talked about racing the north road, I'm sure he came from Dunmurry ?
  6. Think you were played out there tommy, had to look for pastures new LOL
  7. Could all have been sorted out if the proposer (before the vote took place)added a rider to sort out the program would have sorted out the problem, and not after having found out they had had the majority vote. Adding a rider has been custom & practise in Lanarkshire Fed.
  8. Great night John, had a laugh as well.
  9. I used avidress all last year and up till now, have changed over to wonder pigeon, its a kind of syrup nature find its better to mix it with a little hot water then top up with cold water, any way any thing which prevents the use of antibiotics cant be bad.
  10. Anybody used 'Wonder Pigeon' apparently its getting rave revues
  11. Lovely video, testament to the Macs supremacy.
  12. I Know exactly what you mean Steve but I still believe in what I'm doing the only difference between them is experience thats it, with distance birds they usually wont show themselves till they are probably 3y old and go to the distance they were bred for. its a game of patience but as I said before L/BS are invaluable for stock. Anyway off to se a friend I'm sure I will be educated a bit more tonight that's if I can remember any thing tomoro morning, nice to speak to you Steve.
  13. Peter, after reading most of the opinions re L/Bs, I have bred some really good ones in years gone by. In 1980 I topped the Fed two weeks running, a 2y old at Cheltenham the at Avranches a 3 y old. Have a few since inc. the hen which was 2nd Sect. 6th open Alencon 3 years ago. she flew 150 miles as a ylg then Ypres as 2y old, went to Alencon following year the opposite side of the country and and scored. but I have always maintained that L/Bs are the backbone of the stock loft.I put a pair or two by of my performance birds every year and they would be mated to either yearlings from proven birds or as i prefer nowadays to older stock to preserve the vigour in the mating. Always look forward to reading other opinions on any thing re. pigeons helps to keep the old mind working reflecting ones own experiences, however you cannot compare racing nowadays compared to the past decades, its a different ball game now with all the BOP and perhaps a few modern environmental issues.
  14. Geo.That would be another vote then, it would be another majority vote, and if not carried then its a vote between the two proposals, end off. The last thing we want is the meeting to develop into a rabble.
  15. As I see it there is two programmes up for debate and its a straight vote one against the other and the majority vote wins. as regards the new section proposals better put your tin hats on lads.
  16. He also scored with this same cock at the last Nat. and won a SHU award with him that year.
  17. Yes George, the ferry's was part of the problem but just as well the Nat. were advised by Stefaan Van Moerbeke to cross because of the heat on the north of France & Belgium, the Nat.then had the inland race.
  18. The weather is usually the biggest factor in dissasterous races, from Carentan I don't think the birds got a clean run over the channel, my opinion of course I had no birds at that race. I chose the inland Nat. which turned out ok.Remember the heatwave that weekend the SNFC were advised not to go to Ypres because the racing in Belgium was suspended because of the high tempretures.
  19. He told me one time it was under one of the slabs leading up to his loft.
  20. He told me one time it was under one of the slabs leading up to his loft. I aid to him anytime he needs any gardening work I'm your man. LOL
  21. It was a lot of kidoligy with Jock, he loved the banter.
  22. I had on loan 'Mill Queen' & 'Mill No Surrender' his blue cock was 5 times in the ist hundred in the SNFC Rennes race we exchanged birds at that time, he was 'simply the best'. my own 'Queen' line descends from 'Mill Queen'.
