I would just like to thank George of SALTIRE COURIERS once more for the delivery of the birds i recieved today Sunday .One phone call he arranged carriage from down south up to Aberdeenshire ,thank you i would and will use him again cheers.

Just would like to say recieved birds from Oldyellow today and they are just grand would recommend his youngsters they are well reared thanks!!!

Misty,dull,and a bit damp club dues to be paid the day so all in all miserable.

Is this not an advanced stage of one eye cold ,is there bubbles in the fluid surrounding eye ,could be past that stage imo!!

You cant fly them for 2 weeks ,do you mean race them.

I would also like to state George has been to me 3 times and the service he has provided has been first class ,spoke to him Friday night as i am expecting delivery of young doos on Sun,he was obviously upset by all of this by his tone ,i hope this all sorts its self out for him as he in my opinion is likeable guy and at some point i will use Saltire Couriers again.

Done it F----n!!! again ,went into feed stock doos prisoner hen out and past me like a shot,once i get some young off them not going to have prisoners again ,its not that it was expensive bird its just so bluddy anoying but well well! these things happen . :cry-blow:

Damp start sun comming through now ,a bit warmer as well,all good.

The whole thing is we need a change in law to sort this out, The right to protect your stock, on your own ground and property ,the bluddy do gooders only see what they want to see ,there will come a day when song birds will be non exsistant will they still say ,Oh the hawks are bonny birds ,short sighted fools i say !!!!

I am not sure what the answer is but i do know up here we have had a very good open winter hardly any harsh weather ,no doubt the hawk will have flourished in this good weather and the breeding pairs will have multiplied, I have had 2 hits in 2 weeks my mate ,300yds down the road got one taken this week ,doesnt bode well for us !!!

I agree with last post if we are to fight this we have to think back to nature ie, are we providing their food when they most need it nesting, rearing ,we start thinking about letting birds out ,training,racing at this time ,put back old bird racing ,combine some old and young bird races ,change our ideas ,its 12 year since i raced and nothing has changed in this subject since i was last in this position ,either work through feds and orginisations to change things or there is little point in moaning on year in year out !!!

Blue sky ,frosty ,sunny morning ,looks good ,will wait for it to heat up a bit then we will get the loft cleaned up a bit maybe.

Its a cold drizzly day here ,a bit windy as well.

Aye thats very true ,one minute your helping them then in the blink of an eye your lookin at 30 somethings and they are keepin you right .

In i hope a weeks time when young away ,it will be Barley ,Wheat ,Maize,beans in hopper at all times ,handfull wild bird mix when i have a seat amongst them with a nut or two ,train up and lets go!!

Its nae the saving that made me think o this its the varietey of seed in the bag that impressed me with this wild bird mixture ,its frae Longleys in Maud .

Well lads feedin for your team do we need fancy mixes i am feeding Beans ,Maize ,Barley ,small amount of Wheat and for the small seed i am away for a bag of wild bird seed £10-50 a bag.Nothing special here just clean feed and plenty of it ,want my birds home ,i think todays feeding regimes leave the doos wanting if they are forced into a night out.What do you think???

Up early again ,touch of frost the sun breaking through looks good just now will get birds out the day ,to windy yesterday.

I like them feathered under wing and offering to pick ,but if they are nae copeing put them back.

The turkey pellets are they bigger than layers pellets ??
