  1. Nice one Austin, glad your getting it back.:emoticon-0157-sun:
  2. Cold E/wind blowing here in Lanarkshire with very very light snow fall all day, its not heavy enough to lay so the roads and pavements are ok for now.
  3. I have no knowledge of the couple but well done on their win. I seen the doo when i was down and if its a cross its no a first cross. Put me in mind of the Dordin pigeons that were very "showy" but were great on the road too. Anyway the judges thought that was the best doo in the place so well done again to Mr & Mrs Thresher:emoticon-0137-clapping::emoticon-0137-clapping:
  4. Well Harky's good Ck was either 1st or 2nd one week in the SNRPC Yb national and a week later won 1st Section E in the SNFC Yb National, but it never got an OPEN ticket in the SNFC and it was probably one of the best doos in the race. imo. I rest ma case
  5. No i get what yer saying, what i'm saying is that NO MATTER what prep races the doos get through here they canny get an Open certificate 9 times out of 10 because of Location and that's a fact. 200 300 mls before it disnae make an iota of difference to the Open result.
  6. That is some statement Lewis, Billy Bilsland would never put a doo in a basket that was unprepared to fly the distance it had to fly, makje no mistake about it the YB SNFC race is all about LOCATION. Check the Open positions gained by Section E fanciers over the last 5 years and come back on and tell me your opinion on location then. Remember some fo the best fanciers in the Country are in Section E and canny make the Open result, some don't even send now because they KNOW they can't win the race.

    Blackpool

Had a great weekend this time though didnae fancy the hotel. So to get ahead the missus spent the night looking for the perfect hotel for 2014, you'll no believe it, we missed the last room by 2hrs 12mins:emoticon-0179-headbang::emoticon-0179-headbang: The search continues so Any tips on a good Quality hotel that's no miles fae the show will be gratefully accepted, i like ma comforts.
  8. I boiught a Jan Theelen Mealy Ck off a guy that i bought from at the Lanark SHU Show in December (i broke that doo dry in 10 days) and 2 from the Louella stand ( something i never do) but seen this family called Van Den Heuvel that i've never came across before and 3 Ck's stood out to me, so i picked 2 of them and got a wee discount so am up the road with 3 new stock Ck's. Will need to do some homework on the V/D Heuvel strain now. lol
  9. Seen the sale of Champions or whatever it was called on a telly down there and the top price was £30,000. I came up the road with 3 Ck's that caught my eye but they wirnae 30k lol
  10. Aye we had them on the ropes Watty and let them off. As a team we acquitted ourselves well against a superb group of players that included 2 amateur WORLD champions, a Scottish Open winner and the guy who was runner up this year in the Scottish final. As well as guys who play in the big tounaments every other weekend of the year. All in all we are disappointed with the result but we should pat ourselves on the back for what was a great effort.
  11. Least Fav time of the season for me is when i pair up and they either won't take, the Yearling Ck's that won't let the hen in the box and the fighting when one goes into the wrong box and smashes the eggs, that p-ss-s me right off.:emoticon-0179-headbang: My favorite time is when the racing hits the 200ml mark, the chaff have been lost and the wheat are coming into themselves for the open and duplication races in the Fed. Of course i don't make all the results but when i do its usually a guid yin and that inspires me to push on for the Channel race or races, which is where my heart lies.:emoticon-0157-sun:
  12. We lost 7/5 wich ye think on the face of it is no bad, but it was fae a 5/3 Up position!!! should have wrapped it up in the first 2 doubles games but blew it. Que Sera!! Captain brought the stats with him tonight and i was pleased to see i've won 6/9 played, no bad after such a long break away from it. Every has a silver lining lol:emoticon-0157-sun:
  13. Cheers George, ma first year back in 13 years, no playing as well as i used to but its coming back slow but sure. Ma win/loss ratio is good in the team so i've got something to build on.
  14. There is a few quid goes along with it Billy, that goes into the end of season soiree fund, which i'm told is a tad wild!!

    Cup Final

My pool team are playing in a cup final tomorrow night, and its against the Barcelona of our pool league in their own patch, however we done them 7-4 in a league game so ye never know we might be their Jinx team, here's hoping!!
  16. Aye Jimmy nae luck, i've got a variety of them in 1's and 2's, as well as the clay ones.
  17. I've got them laying all over the place and would GIVE them away to anyone who wanted to clean them up and use them, Frank123 gave me some plastic nest pans last year and with nest felts in them they beat the clay pans hands down. imo!
  18. Maybe Danny, but no in front of the Fed
  19. A wee reminder that this meeting is tonight at 7pm, (50 mins from now!!) come along and get updated on the Fed business.
  20. I will play if the sections stay as they are after the Agm, if they change i won't be sending with the SNFC
  21. Like your idea Lewis and it would keep members interested on the run up to the Gold Cup, but if its for Fun and not Finance i would suggest nominating the birds 4 weeks before the race. That way more members would have an interest in the actual race its self. Jmo.
  22. Updated with the the winners of the Centre and West section combined averages.
  23. John Quinn.............Lanarkshie............from top SNFC Section/Silver award winning lines.
  24. The Roger Trophy for best Yb average in the West section was won by Martin Ftzpatrick. The R, Telfer & Son trophy for the best Yb average in the East section was won by W. Smart & Son AND!! The Special trophy for the best COMBINED AVERAGE in the EAST Section was won by your good self Tam The Special trophy for the best Combined Average in the Centre Section was the marvellous G, W & P Macaloney The Special trophy for best Combined Average in the West Section was won by the wonderful Jan Aarden family of pigeons belonging to Walter Boswell. Ps. I can only put up the info when it has been verified, as such i seen no reason NOT to put the rest up when i got the printed sheets in. The men who put the work into collating the info and identifying the winners ( And it wasn't me! ) deserve a HUGE round of applause for their hard work and don't deserve the derogatory remarks.
