Been involved since i was old enough to follow my Da down to the lofts and i'm 49yrs old now. The most satisfaction i have ever had was in 2005 when i timed a 2003 Cheq Ck called "Told You So" from Lille to win against all the advice i had been given to choose another Ck that had been in the form as my pooler i stuck with my own conviction and he lifted an entire season's accy. That was only one of many great performances over 5 seasons for me from this Ck, including winning £388 from Maidstone (361mls) as a latebred in 2004 carrying 4 nest flights, he was also G/sire to my 1st section Ypres hen, which despite being my Best win, doesn't measure up to her G/sire. As a boy my most memorable result was winning Worcester 1977 with a Grizzle Ck, Su 75 L 14907, because my Da predicted it would win the November before when it was Entered into the Show/Race as it was known in the club. What made that special was the Grizzle had been "given" to me to call my own by my Da the season before.

I've been taking first of all Losec (Original Omeprazole) until some smart get from the NHS decided it was too expensive so changed it to just any Omeprazole which didnae do the job, so after about 2 years arguing with the doc he put me back on Losec, no more probs UNTIL the same smart get changed it again about 3 months later, ever since i've been on Lansoprazole 30mg, all in all i've been taking one form of inhibitor or another for 21 years straight now.

Lanarkshire Racing Pigeon Federation
JohnQuinn replied to 1967's topic in Clubs/Organisations Topics & Events
Deleted my earlier post because i thought it said 1983 no '88 old eyes are going slow but sure !!, it was in fact a Blue Pd hen Quinn Bros timed that day, named "Briarwood Good Girl" the good girl came from how my Da referred to his first grandchild, she was always a "good girl" in his eyes. The Blue Pd hen was a 1986 doo, Su 86 L 8507, whose Dam was a 1983 Cheq Pd hen gifted to my Da from his best friend James McCourt, i believe she was from Bob McLaughlin of Salsburgh birds that James raced at the time. The Sire i have no memory of but could look the old books and see. Might just do that now. -
All of the above is correct Strapper, but when you get a high Helicobacter count you are given Dual Antibiotics to clear it, one will usually be Penicillin based eg, Amoxicillin and the second is more often than not Ronidazole based, eg. Metronadozale. It has a terrible effect on your stomach when taking it as it make you feel sick as a pig until the course stops but it is an Antibiotic regardless of what else it gets used for as a veterinarian's cures.

Positive Jim, it is used in Humans to treat Helicobacter Pilori, which causes stomach Ulcers. Believe me i have had to use it twice after having perforated ulcers.

In days gone by my Da widnae pair pigeons up before the 2nd weekend in March, which is VERY late these days, however when the 2nd round Yb's came through they were more or less "rushed" into training/racing with the older Yb's and would go straight into race 3 in the program. Come the later races it was invariably the 2nd round Yb's that were doing the winning, and my Da/Uncle Eddie won plenty of races at this time of the season and the Lions share of the Yb races at other times and it always seemed to be the Youngest birds that done it.

Just had a look at their web site and notice that Ronidazol 10% is one of the top sellers, a very strong antibiotic, over use of this type of thing will be the ruination of some lofts, the doos will be liable for every disease going because their immune system is shot to pieces. jmo.

I try to get 4 of the first 6 races into all of my team and then target the races i want to enter them into in the second half of the season, some will occasionally go to Every race, but they're usually bigger than i like or some who haven't shown any form in racing, ma thinking being if they're no the best, then maybe being the fittest on a particular day will be enough. I call that last chance saloon though!!
-
Yes Walter, plz give me the info, i would be very interested to see the results.
-
Naw i think he eventually started with 19 Yb's after the disasterous toss and yes he did do well with them but he fly's into an easy location
-
A think maybe yer a tad optimistic Stevie, tae think that you could finish the program if ye only start way 6, regardless of where ye get them from 6 will never finish it let alone win races, MAYBE a race but no races. Try 60, train them hard feed them well and anything yer left with will have earned its perch and MAYBE you'll win races with them too.

Good on you George, keep up the work and the doos will keep rewarding you

Hi Peter, Its things like this that get under ma skin, i've had the same .22 since 1976. In all these years i've NEVER aimed it at anyone and i only ever use it for target practice now. Other than that and the odd time rabbiting as a youngster, in all these years i've had, it's well Nye impossible to suggest i would use in inappropriately. But this will get brought into Law and it'll affect some more people like me, and off course the 2 finger runts/idiots will give the Law the fingers keep their's foe taking pop shots at anyone they take a dislike to or worse still for FUN!!! Some f*****g fun eh??

Looks Like There Are 2 Races For The Lansrkshire Fed
JohnQuinn replied to a topic in Clubs/Organisations Topics & Events
Aye Derek, that's my idea on it, like a Mini National, open to all regardless of where they come from N, S, E, or West OR What organisations they are members of, the race would be subject to Lanarkshire race rules and it would be our Controller/s who took charge. -
Humorous as your reply is Derek, i'd like the thread kept for comments on the Social night. So tomorrow am gonna delete all OFF TOPIC posts. Cheers John. Ps. Why no come doon for it and bring a couple of mates??

Why not hold an "Open To All" Race from Liege the week after Ypres ?? -
The sooner the Majority realise the better that it is NOT where you race TO!! that counts, its where we race FROM!! that determines the division of prizes, the better off EVERYONE will be in the SNFC.
-
Great tae see ye back on Archie, take care.

Danny, it was voted in that we would travel with the SNFC for the 2 longest races, that in its self tells ye we're no at Ypres in June, it'll be the first week in July (6th), to quote ye AS IS the norm for our longest race date. We will also be at Maidstone with them, the date of which you have correct. -
Cheers, i hope they fling you some more winners and the ones you have from them go on to score time and time again for you. Better delete this thread though cos Budgie might want yer pre-potent Ck
-
Awright Vinny, the program is Newbury 8/6/13, Maidstone 22/6/13, Alencon 28.6.13 Ypres PLUS the longest rce (probably Tours 6/7/13 Clermont 19/7/13 and Leicester YBN 14/9/13. Don't know who took the committee positions that got filled but another 7 or 8 are needed.

i've seen this but can't say i paid any attention to it, out of curiosity how were the youngsters from the 2nd year you paired them together?
