Class can only be measured by the way we conduct ourselves, to a man we will all have done things we are perhaps not so proud of but if in General you are courteous, forgiving, considerate to others and most of all HONEST then in my book yer TOP CLASS!!

A would have to disagree with that Jade, stands to reason that if you only have to find birds for 4 races instead of 7, the fanciers lofts will only get hit 4 times by the bop instead of the 7, and the many other factors that cause losses are reduced from 7 to 4 too. I look at it in a simple fashion, EVERY time i basket my birds i risk their lives, if i only send birds out of my team to 4 races then i only risk them 4 times, but as you know many many fanciers use the inland nationals as training spins for their Channel birds, they don't all survive the prep race tae get across the Channel and of course it is every one else's fault they lost their "good Channel doo fae a bad toss" out of Newbury eg. For me less is best and the birdages would rise in Every Channel race compared to the numbers being attracted just now. jmho

Well a rung a feathered squab about 13 days old today, admittedly with a wee bit help fae Lurpak, but i got it on without breaking the skin. Ironically The first 2 i rung this year were 6 days old and one of them lost the ring. So while both of the above were rung art the Wrong time i will make damn sure the rest are rung when they are ready to be rung, regardless of how many days old they are. So whether 8mm or 7.5mm they won't notice the difference that's for sure.

If yer right Derek, i propose his IP address be blocked from the site. I could make suggestions for anyone who lives near him but i'll settle for having him barred fae PB, a Pigeon Fanciers site.

Agree almost verbatim with you Rab but i though at least Adam put plenty of work in tonight on what was a nightmare of a pitch to play any game on let alone a W/C qualifier, i know it was the same for both but and it was a travesty to play on that ploughed field. jmo

A just set up my mobile phone to get tweet alerts, nae getting caught out that way

With the great season you had last year why give them anything new?? give them more of the same
-
The combination of mixes i use All the time offer at a guess, about 2 dozen different types of seeds/peas/beans, i give them plenty of it when they return and they appear to favour the smaller seeds more than they normally would, fresh water in the drinkers. However i am of the firm belief that it does not matter when or WHAT FEEDING you use, rather its what you FEED IT TO!! that matters most.

Yip Frank, when its finished we hope the members like it.

When Mr & Mrs Elliott won the Gold Cup, the neighbouring farm turned the soil in the field adjacent to Davy's lofts so I wouldn't be overly concerned with them fielding , unless they race to the field of course!!!

Thanks Chad, must be having a Senior moment, couldn't see it for looking at it!!

This trophy is an Upgrade of the Trophy Joe Boyle of Dalzell F.C. (Joeb on here) was presented with for 1st Club 1st Section 1st Open Fed from Appleby Yb race. Pic is not the best but it is imo, a lovely trophy. Well done again Joe

Mick Mc Cormack of Uddingston topped the Fed from the race on the 11th August 2012, Appleby. circa 6.000 birds. Winning the Henderson Trophy pictured below.
-
The trophy pictured is the Border Trophy, won by the club record breaking lofts of John Dougal. Cambusnethan and Morningside H.S. This Trophy is presented to the fancier with the first Yearling timed in on the first Saturday in June, in 2012 it was the 2nd. John Dougal had 7 (SEVEN) firsts in the club in 2012, a club record. In 2011 he won 5 races on the trot, another club record. C&M can be duplicated into by members of other clubs, this usually results in the club having the largest Birdages in the Fed. 900+ is NOT unusual early in the program. So winning like this takes some doing.

These 2 trophies were won by W. Smart & Sons, Newmains F.C. The first trophy is the R. Telfer & Son Trophy for the Best Average in the East Section of Lanarkshire Fed Yb's. circa 15,000 Birds. The second trophy is the Andy Durning Memorial Trophy for 1st Open Federation in the 4th flown race of the Yb program. circa 6,000 Birds. The trophies were not available at the Presentation night (cos they were in BUDGIE'S hoose!!) but i would like to Congratulate Wullie on a fine Yb season in 2012.

Aye Andy, we are delighted with the quality on offer, and i'm sure there will be an above average number of winning pigeons come out of this one, we also hope to match or better it in future ventures, though there ain't much room for improvement!!
