The big man is a Gentleman and the way he has been flying it must have been a real treat handling his doos.

As i said in my PM, it was the manner in which it was done that has left a Bitter taste in my mouth.

Must say i'm disappointed that the donor bid over the top of me, a think this practice should be banned.

Alan, the men around the table are determined to provide the members with what we all strive for, the BEST of everything and some more on top, for both the fanciers and even more so the Doos............We'll get it done too!!

We had a wee meeting tonight to discuss amongst other things the sale. Gareth, Jim Cullen and myself had a list of names each from our previous meeting to contact and ask for a donation, NOT ONE fancier on any of our lists refused a donation, it really warms the Heart when you feel the support from fellow Fed members and even more so Friends of our Fed members, well done to one and all its promising to be a truly GREAT sale.

Lanarkshire Racing Pigeon Federation will be having a fundraising sale on the 7th of April 2013 in Newmains Club premises. This is the first sale held by the Federation in a Generation so we are aiming to make it something a bit special. Further details re-donors etc, will be added as the date draws nearer. John.

I thought there would have been more goals in the game, with either side likely to have won it. At 1-1 you'd ordinarily say its advantage Utd but its Real Madrid that are coming to town so for me its still very much a 50/50 tie. Good game of football to watch right enough but i was looking/hoping for more goals. There's nae pleasin some folk

A HUGE Thank You to James Campbell ( Goosh) from the Uddingston Club who managed to arrange a meeting between Jim Cullen SVP, Jim Cameron Sec/Treasurer and Tunnocks of Uddindston to discuss the possibility that Tunnocks would sponsor our Transporters. The meeting took place this morning and Tunnocks have put a Very Generous offer to us that we are delighted with. Along with the sponsorship they will arrange the Lanarkshire Racing Pigeon Federation name to be painted onto the trailers at the same time the Tunnocks Logo is being done.:emoticon-0137-clapping::emoticon-0137-clapping: I was disappointed to be working this morning and never got to meet him personally but i'm sure that will be rectified before the season starts. Again though, we all must thank James ( Goosh )Campbell who is a gaffer in Tunnocks and without his help we may never have had this fantastic offer.:emoticon-0137-clapping::emoticon-0137-clapping:

I would need to go back to my Da's breeding book to find that out but i suspect this Ck would have had McLuckie blood in it somewhere. Next time i've got 5 mins to spare at the lofts i will look it up.

Personally i believe the order in which they are raced could be altered ti finish the program with an inland race, but that's jmo. I will endeavour to compete from them all this year, and like Lewis i'd like to get one from the Longest race, ( haven't entered it before) hopefully make the result too.

Aye Andy, that's how i do mine if i'm in any doubt about them. Though i don't put the tail up my arm i balance the doo Across my palm because i think its more accurate, i GUESS its because the Ck COULD resist turning up if its tail is obsructed by your arm, but it is only a guess. Always find that if i thought it a Ck and it turns out a hen they turn out far better birds than the other way round.

Usually when pairing related birds, be it Grand/S x G/dghtr, half bro sister, aunt/nephew, ye get my gist, it is because i am breeding to Type, in other words replicate the bird i am breeding TO by pairing relatives together. In a nut shell if the young bird handles, looks and shows traits of what it is bred to replicate i would probably Keep the yb for stock. My own preference when inbreeding for stock is the bird who's genes i want to concentrate On, paired to its own half Bro/Sis whatever the case might be. atb with them whichever way you use them Andy. Cheers John.
