I'll have approx 60 racers this year which is too many, however i started last season with 90+ so the numbers are heading in the right direction, lets hope the results head along with them.

Tickets are now available for our presentation evening on Friday 8th Feb in the Holdsworth Bowling Club premises. Dinner is for 7pm and the inimitable Sandy Strang will be the entertainment. The up coming EGM will be an excellent opportunity to purchase your tickets or you can book them with me or Jim Cameron from Uddingston Club, priced at £12 per head. I do hope that members support the night by coming along and bringing as many friends with you as you can. Onwards and Upwards for Lanarkshire now and with the support of the members for all that is being done would go a long way to helping yourselves along the way to a better Federation.

Hi Watty, i believe Jamie is correct in saying wee Martin wins them. The only outstanding one is the East section YB averages which i think will go to Wullie Smart & Sons doing 1346.72. though this has NOT BEEN CONFIRMED yet. Cheers John.

The advertisement for the up coming EGM on 16th of Jan will be placed into the NEWS IN BRIEF column as i missed the deadline for this weeks issue. The deadline was in fact last Thursday 3rd of Jan, this is because the double issue for Blackpool will be coming out this week too and the contents have already been sent to the printers for publication, that is why it will be placed in the NEWS IN BRIEF section. My apologies to members for the omission of a Proper advert but i had no idea, and was not told by the BHW when i phoned them, that the Ad would need to be in earlier than usual. However the lady i spoke with today was as helpful as she could be and persuaded the editor to place the details into the N,I,B section. Jim Cameron is phoning the Secretaries that i missed to inform them so hopefully this setback will be just that, only a setback.

The Federation rings are in the possession of Iain Henderson and are being distributed to secretaries as i write, good luck with what you put them onto. Cheers John. Also all Diploma's have been done by John Barlow and can either be collected from Iain whilst collecting rings or can be collected at the up coming EGM on the 16th.

I know for a fact your onto plums Derek, its actually Your responsibility to make sure your bet is in order and no the staff's problem. I mean can ye imagine a wee lassie on her first shift ok'ing a bet that the bookie would lose Millions on but would have to pay because the new staff never noticed a mistake?? Big Rab's (wings04) brother placed a double not so long ago and the 2 horses duly obliged, however when he went to cash in they refused because his bet was placed JUST after the off of his first horse race, so he only got paid out a single. To rub it in, he deliberately put another LOSER after the off then tried to claim his stake back because the bet was late, what happened?? you got it he was onto plums and NO STAKE money was returned to him either cos it was HIS mistake!!!! He has went to an ombudsman about it but as yet i don't know how it has unfolded or if it has been settled yet cos as i say it was only a short time ago.

I stated at this meeting that this would just about finish the SNFC and i for one will immediately apply to join the SNRPC if it gets passed. Its the most self serving proposal i can ever remember and the Committee made its feelings very clear to the president at the meeting that we DID NOT support him, and no one present would second it, but the President is determined to put the proposal up, as he is entitled to do, however if the committee members are a reflection of the members feelings from across the country it will get short shrift at the meeting regardless of where the meeting is held.

Ma missus booked us into a nice hotel not too far from the W/G, a canny mind the name of it but she said its good digs and there won't be water running doon the light fae the upstairs room this time!!
