  3. Who's to say the writer is even from Lanarkshire??? Its a big Fed tae pick fae so maybe that is a ruse to obscure their true location.
  4. Aye well done Jim, good start tae yer season
  5. Aye Archie, we've got off to a great start considering the weather leading up to this week, some fanciers ma self included, have not had a training toss but returns are still excellent, long may it continue too.
  6. I was 20 mins behind yesterday but got 6/6 in 26 mins, so long lay in this morning with no need to get to the loft for late comers Just the start i expected and ye don't often get what ye expect at this game. OHH!! Ma pooler was LAST home so ma form is holding fae last year

All the best Fid, good birdage for so far into yer race program, hope all goes well for ye and returns are 100%.
  8. Well done to Budgie getting off to a flyer, also Richardson/Stewart/Calderwood for winning Motherwell club, young Alan Calderwood has added a bit of zest to this partnership, and as noted by TheHigg on another thread he has them started off as he ended last Year.
  9. If you go in ONE car, its dedication, if you's go individually am afraid there might be nae hope for you's Walter
  10. Forecast looks good Peter, so barring down right bad luck, am sure your perches will be full tomorrow night.

  15. Sent 6. 5 Ck's and 1 hen, the hen (yearling) has took up residence in a wee lean to, that i keep loadsa junk in. The door is broken ( i've been fixin it for 2 yrs! ) anyway her and a yearling Ck have been going in and out of there for weeks but i kept putting them back into different sections in the race loft, so today i let the 2 of them out and had a nest pan with a felt in it waiting for them and sure enough when i went tae basket them they were cosy'n up in the nest pan. Whether it'll make an IOTA of a difference to them is another matter altogether The others, all Ck's, are 3 4yr olds and a 2yr old who's my fancy as a timer, NO A WINNER, just ma timer.
  16. Wee Norman Orr hasn't trained a pigeon for YEARS and is one of the best fanciers around at the distance. Ma doos are FIT enough to do 80mls with the flagging, just no fit enough to WIN from it, but i have little to no interest in winning from the first 5 races so it will simply get the ones i do send a bit fitter than the others in the loft. Long season ahead Chad and when the races get out over 200mls my doos will be fit enough to Win from there. In 2005 a never trained a bird but won 4 of last 6 races in the club and won a right few quid out the Fed Open races as well, so i hope with help from my Brother this year i can have a similar finish to this season.
  17. The loop is preferably Fly Fishing line, make a noose at the end. Does NOT need tied like a hangmans noose just tie at the end leaving it loose enough to feed the other end through it, like a choker dog lead. Make the loop about 4" and place feeding around the loop. The doo should stand with its feet inside the loop whilst feeding. Pull the end as hard and fast as you can in order to catch its leg/s in the loop then pull it to you like you were landing a fish, if ye keep the tension right the doo canny escape. There is a certain amount of "touch" needed to do this but it is VERY successful especially when there isn't a loft or shed to get the bird into. atb with it John.
  18. Ah i see now, well i'm in anyway and a score isnae too much for a kids hospital. I'll give it to Jim on Tuesday night for you.
  19. Sounds like double rubber rings so its probably from a National race and has spent the winter roughing it. Keep feeding it and if you have a basket handy sit it near where you put the feeding down. Each time it returns put the feeding nearer the basket until it pays no attention to it being there (hopefully it'll ignore it right away ) then start putting feeding into the basket. If it goes in you can pull the basket closed with string. Another way is to "Loop" it, but that takes a bit more doing however if the above disnae work i'll explain the Loop to you. It'll no go far if you feed it regularly, the feed in the basket might take a few days so be patient and you'll get it
  20. Ye can count on me for a Score George, but if its in Glasgow how come the cash isnae going to Yorkhill?? No suggesting for a minute Great Ormond Street isn't a VERY worthy recipient, just find it strange a Scottish event is putting money into it when Yorkhill needs it just as much.
  21. Well done Gareth, no an easy training day today but your lot are obviously Fit enough to do the job being asked of them
  22. My lot haven't been in the basket this year yet but they are beginning to work hard around the loft/local area which is when i reckon they are Fit to Train. I've Never trained doos to get them fit, i like to get them fit to train first Order of the day for this week is to enter a handful only, all experienced doos that should do 80 mls without the need for road training, however i will be training soon and when i start them i'm gonna push them as hard as possible this year, first reason is to hopefully improve results and 2nd is to weed out the ones that have had it TOO easy for the last 2 years.
  23. Very Very true Brian, all my previous experience was with Adults who have learning difficulties, ( much like a few on here lmao ) however dealing with the Mentally Ill gives greater satisfaction when you see them progress and start living a meaningful life again.

  25. No on that one now Tam, in fact Lanarkshire hasn't got a rep on the SNFC committee this year. Ps, heard you have a van up for grabs, will ye PM me what it is and what £ are involved?? PPs. Funny how you highlight i must have a way with words cos since i've become Pres i've been getting told what i CANNY say, yet it seems what i do say got me into it in the first place Crazy old game this doo game.
