  1. Got 3 more yesterday taking my returns to 30/32. In 2 races that's 63 sent with 61 returned, not bad by any standards, just wish i could get another 10 mins off their time!! though i've long since accepted my younger Naturals will struggle against Darkness doos, especially when racing into an area West of most of my competitors.
  2. Right age for settling them, but don't feed Before letting them out. At the beginning they need a reason to go back in and an empty crop is imo the way to condition their behaviour. Routine is everything when it comes to any kind of livestock to get the best out of them, I know your probably loving sitting with them picking around in the garden, we all like that, but when they start flying "proper" they really need to be in the sky or in the loft at the start to create good habits for when you race them. When you start training them you only have them in the basket, sky or loft and you will reap the benefits of the discipline and routine when it comes to race days. atvb with them.
  3. A just registered, how do I pick my team now?? Any Help plz.
  4. Ended the day with 27/32, think the percentages are kicking in. Will see what tomorrow morn brings.
  5. Very tight finish, 3 doos on the same yaed, well done all 3
  6. 2nd in Camby too Stuart, very well done
  7. Also very slow with me and PB is the only page open. Tried my facebook and e-mails and both are responding instantly.
  8. Excellent returns Gareth, all that training in the Fed transporter is paying off However my own wee team of naturals haven't handled the conditions well at all, sitting with 22/32 when i left the dookit about an hour ago. The same team plus 1 who gave me 100% returns last week, doubt VERY much i'll end up with anywhere near 100% this week but ye never can tell with Yb's. Fingers crossed and rituals complete for at least another 6 before the day is out. A special mention for ma wee pal Rab Wilson (wings04's Da) on a fine performance winning the club by 40ypm, super flying on a day like today. Doing 1191ypm. Interesting that he timed the same doo as last week ( well down the result ) and only 7 seconds difference in his time, and that was a Very different race from today's.
  9. The Lanarkshire doo is a Larkhall bird, Gareth's club, not necessarily his doo but its from his club.
  10. To be fair it disnae ask if its good into certain area's and not others but i'm doubtful if anywhere North or East of Lanarkshire is more difficult to race birds into, that is JMO! lol
  11. Absolutely correct, if it ain't there ye canny bring it out of them, if they have it they will win in future regardless of how you treat them as Yb's. My 3 best pigeons Ever were all late bred birds untrained or raced as Yb's, including my SNFC Section winner who also scored from Bovingdon earlier that season. My father won with late bred birds on a very regular basis too. Was gonna put JMO, but its more than opinion, its a fact. ATVB with them however you decide to progress with them. John. Ps..........Many many Yb's race the full program and training tosses on top just to go down sharpish as yearlings, it is a totally different ball game when you get them sat down or onto a widowhood/roundabout system.
  12. A good doo that first wan, well done Tam.
  13. Super start tae yer Yb season Tam, winning by 20ypm too, well done
  14. The question needing answered is who is the best Sprint Fancier in Britain, no who's got the best doos. The answer in this instance just happens to be the same no matter the question, The Mac's by far. imo!

Canny beat getting off to a winning start, well done Stuart. Ps. Returns are patchy all over with some "big losses" reported and "all home" reported in almost equal measures, from what i hear anyway, hope more of your's have worked their way in. Cheers, John.
  17. respornse has been good but for ideal numbers we need another couple.
  18. Here's hoping it brings you lots of Yb's Brian. all the way down here, so my lot can stay in this morning and get their ets rings on.
  19. I think because they cross the water it makes it more of a challenge, even though as you say its not 500mls to most across the central belt. In saying that i've always catergorised birds as sprint 0-200mls Middle 200-400 mls and long distance 400=600, over 600 is into extreme distance. Jmo.
  20. They are going back and forth from a wood about a mile north of me and head fror the Clyde Valley, about 3 miles south, all day long, am talking batches of up to 12 in them. Never stops all summer and now they are nesting in garden conifer trees, had a pair in the garden behind mine this year, know they had a single Yb but it seemed to be missing quite quickly after weaning. I have seen a very odd one with secondaries or tail feathers out but very very few.
  21. I'm sure a lot more will drop in over the next day or 2 Brian, but i think your gonna be a few down too. On the upside the one's who work their way back will be hard to lose after this. I do hope your losses are minimal though. atb John.
  22. Am only a couple down from 7 tosses Cem, on the transporter for the first time today and all present and correct. But i know hwere yer coming from and it widnae bother me one bit going without a couple of Yb season's. Here's something that crosses ma mind often, don't know about where you live, but we are inundated with Wood Pigeons around here, how can they be doing so well and our doos are not??
  23. Nail on the head Andy.
  24. I would second you on this one Derek. I've looked through the thread carefully and despite the title being "long distance racing" most others include inland national's, not your's Kyleakin, quite liked your 4 channel races too , but aye i'll second your proposal Derek.
