Delboy Posted April 30, 2016 Report Posted April 30, 2016 It's been the same for years most are loused by 200miles flying in winter conditions and erratic races, come June and July when we all should be enjoying the racing, all they have is the young birds to look forward to, we have been sending some birds to each race, but they have to go at some point and we knew this was going to be a lottery for returns, but if not this week the risk would be next week at 150 miles.Remember last week we were all happy with 100% returns, but David said wait until next week. And we still have birds to blood next week. nobody realises how bad this race has been today. It reminds me of the years I was in the Midland fed. They can all talk about full returns etc in other feds, thinking they are better but that's not the case , its an education that all the fancy should be looking at and trying to work out the reasons.
peter pandy Posted April 30, 2016 Report Posted April 30, 2016 Somebodies birds were gan the wrong way from appleby.........or at least a way that was foreign to themThat wid be mine Stevie :emoticon-0136-giggle:

We should have at least 4 races at 100 miles then you can jump them into 200 miles then back to 100 miles for another couple then into the First Nat then back to 100 miles then into Second Nat that way you are not chasing the birds on for fear of not catching up and 100 mile racing is taking litttle out of them and the weather is improving as the months of May and June are usually much kinder. Its what they do down South.

Delboy Posted April 30, 2016 Report Posted April 30, 2016 Running 2 race programs is what is needed Peter, a mid week 100 mile one to accommodate pigeons catching up etc

I'm 100% sure all is being done behind the scenes to assure the best possible race, so what is the reason? nobody knows, for me we need to stop using Otterburn.
