It's been the same for years most are loused by 200miles flying in winter conditions and erratic races, come June and July when we all should be enjoying the racing, all they have is the young birds to look forward to, we have been sending some birds to each race, but they have to go at some point and we knew this was going to be a lottery for returns, but if not this week the risk would be next week at 150 miles.

Remember last week we were all happy with 100% returns, but David said wait until next week.

And we still have birds to blood next week.

nobody realises how bad this race has been today. It reminds me of the years I was in the Midland fed. They can all talk about full returns etc in other feds, thinking they are better :emoticon-0136-giggle: but that's not the case , its an education that all the fancy should be looking at and trying to work out the reasons.

Del, I have been saying for years now [since retiring] that shoving distance every week onto them is plain stupid. We should have at least 4 races at 100 miles then you can jump them into 200 miles then back to 100 miles for another couple then into the First Nat then back to 100 miles then into Second Nat that way you are not chasing the birds on for fear of not catching up and 100 mile racing is taking litttle out of them and the weather is improving as the months of May and June are usually much kinder. Its what they do down South.

We had 40 away From our lofts mate 20 with Lanarkshire and 20 with south Lanarkshire for me the race was comparable in both 20/20 18/20 albeit not at the races with the winning birds

Some have had great racing and returns from Otterburn and this would lead us to think the race point is ok, so if Glasgow keep getting poor racing and returns is it something we are doing? I'm 100% sure all is being done behind the scenes to assure the best possible race, so what is the reason? nobody knows, for me we need to stop using Otterburn.

We get a poor race everytime we go to Otterburn when other feds get good racing, the Raptures must like the Glasgow birds??

Ayrshire got a decent race IMO from Otterburn Liberating at 10.30 19/26 here but no complaints

If you think this was a good return from under 100miles, fill yer boots, I think its very poor, JMO.

Not all the fed had a great race George as always not everyone tell the whole story in my opinion as a lot of birds had to come back from the east later in the day and my club Airdrie had a lot of birds missing early afternoon , I would think a lot made home later but from 80 ml 6/8 hours on wing is not a great race , jmo .
