BIGPETE Posted November 8, 2014 Report Posted November 8, 2014 Big difference in opinions here but both make a case for what the believe in and truly think. Regardless of who is right or wrong (if anybody) surely the point of an open internet forum is to have these sort of discussion and cause debate? If we agreed all the time how boring would life be!

Guest bigda Posted November 8, 2014 Report Posted November 8, 2014 (edited) yes debate is what its about. i have seen pedegres also that say this bird is from the nest box next to the fed winner, supprised i aint and you get this bird is a half brother to the bird of the year, and when you ask what year 2001 loads of decription there but debate is for all no just some. kingbilly 1 Posted November 8, 2014 Report Posted November 8, 2014 Did you not notice that all fanciers mentioned have a very big commercial interest in pigeon racing? Its no surprise that because they are the in thing that they cost a few quid. Buy them, win a bit more with them and even more quids....Its all part of the commercial merry-go-round of pigeon racing![/quote bar 1 me i have only ever sold 6 birds and i must have given away at least 30 each year to charty or others each year cheers

walterboswell59 Posted November 8, 2014 Report Posted November 8, 2014 no one can garntee to breed you winners imo and a pedegree is only as true as the man who writes it i think i have some of the best breeding stock birds in scotland just now but i could not garntee the youngbirds off them could or would win for someone else as for one they dont breed winners in every nest why do you think i breed 14 to 18 off each pair every year if i get one or two winners off them in a season im happy also the guy that buys them may treat them very different from me and do nothing with them all i can garntee is they are off my best and bred for the job then its up to guy that buys them to get the best out of them and yes if the money is right ill sell yb off my best breeders but i would never sell the birds that breed them unless i was packing in or in real trouble and was forced to you buy what you fancy and what you can afford simple as that but if your not prepaired to put the same or more work into them as the guy you bought them from then your wasting your money and your time some fanciers think if they can afford to buy the best bloodlines going around that they must win im afraid this is not so in pigeons horses or even dogs yes you will have the winning bloodlines but its you that makes them win jmo for what its worth

just ask me Posted November 8, 2014 Report Posted November 8, 2014 No disrespect to the birds or to hardy himself but some of the names mentioned are top flyers I'd like to know where they rate the birds against what they already have this would give me a better idea on how these birds are preforming Studs advertising results in the first year or two after new introductions I take with a pinch of salt as most have lofts now which fly birds for them and the birds are given to lads that they know will get 100% from them Saying lads are not saying there winning with them but not saying may be true but you could say that about any breed\strain I'm not trying to knock anyone or there birds just trying to make a judgement on the birds results in the UK and Ireland
