geordie1234 Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 Well guys it's the time of year we have a bit of time to think about next seasons plans. Mine as always is to score from the channel preferably the gold cup (bloody broke me heart not timing this season from Alencon my eyes were nipping fae staring at the sky) What I do need to do is stop burning my channel doos out before the bloody channel lol I have plenty yearlings this season to have fun. All going well the yearlings will go to Maidstone I have brought in speed pigeons for the fed and inlands but these are a few years away for truly getting a chance to test Atvb

walterboswell59 Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 i try to plan my season out every year if things dont go to to plan i change as i go along but mostly its train my latebreds hard and race them out to 150 160 miles then the yearlings take over to the coast with all birds 2 year old and over going to the channel races along with any yearling thats sticking out all paired at different times to do different jobs with all the short races in our fed program next season im hopeing my latebreds will keep me in the hunt till the real races start meanwhile ive already paired my best breeding and racing birds up on paper but may change one or two around as breeding time gets nearer latebreds will all be in same section apart from two or three i need to match up a cock or hen for the older pairs yearlings will be paired mid feb to catch the 3rd round off the stock birds and any eggs i have stored the old birds will be paired last week in march weather permitting or around the 17th if the weather is better they will rear two rounds and go to there chosen race on the third set of eggs which will be switched off the best pairs under feeders and i try to send each bird the way i know they like to be sitting as they are all different and have there own likes and dislikes then i just need a big slice of luck to go with all the planning lol

Dmurray Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 My aim for next season will be to get myself up the positions in the channel races , managed to time in and make the result in 2/3 nationals from across the water at only my 3rd attempt with only the longest race a failed to time in , so with the team I have built up I plan to better my results next year
KMCK Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 A lot of rebuilding a team this year for us, and also trying to compete but with only 20 odd old birds will be hard but they will all get raced and well see what happens not made channel racing for the last few years but would like to try and got a couple there so heres hoping
Kennybhoy Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 After last season being my first ob.seasoni now realise how hard this game is,was lucky enough to win two races and I'll say this I've learned to enjoy my wins when they come as I don't think I did last year, feel I've got a better team this year with having 26 yearlings 7 2 year olds and 10 latebreads which will be raced lightly maybe to thirsk, would love to get a timer from Ypres the 2 I got the second day will go again if I still have them but will get the yearlings to the coast and maybe a couple to Ypres if I've any left lol, once I've paired up ill plan my season out..atb for next season guys..me I'm still learning the game
dal2 Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 A lot of rebuilding a team this year for us, and also trying to compete but with only 20 odd old birds will be hard but they will all get raced and well see what happens not made channel racing for the last few years but would like to try and got a couple there so heres hoping20 odd is all I usually have but this year I have 30 odd so will be interesting to see what I have left at the end. Hope to win the Gold Cup as usual lol

moscow master Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 as it always is for me to enjoy watching my doos close their wings and drop like bombs even from training tosses as thats the buzz for me love watching them drop in and a wee win along the way always helps
eastcoaster Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 Well guys it's the time of year we have a bit of time to think about next seasons plans. All going well the yearlings will go to Maidstone I have brought in speed pigeons for the fed and inlands but these are a few years away for truly getting a chance to test AtvbI was the same as yourself and was gutted not to time my sole entry in the gold cup , and that was my problem only having one doo to send , so I have invested in some very nice distance birds that are ybs at moment and had one race 130 mls , they will get 4 races as yearlings and what is left will be split half being stopped the rest going out to inland nat , it will take a few years to get them to fly in Hell's Kitchen but am very happy with them at moment .
yeboah Posted October 23, 2014 Report Posted October 23, 2014 I am going into next season with the best team of yearlings that I have owned since starting in 1972Will watch how I go with them with the aim to get as many as possible to the 2yo stage 40 hopefully My 2 and 3yo will not enter the race basket till the weather heats up probably Lymm 141mlsWhen I moved here I had aims win at club then fed then section in national With these achieved my goal is to clock a stormer from the gold cup I have set myself a 3 year target Another huge plus my mate john whom I built a loft to house stock birds bred them for me this yearHowever I bred him a team of 26 wonderful youngsters which fly the sky's for up to 3 hoursHaving returned the stock we will now put in johns application for club membership John will also succeed and give both teams a greater chance of success racing into this area Keep us both on our toes come Saturday's Competition at its best between friends
