bibendium Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 David Moyes is facing the sack as Manchester United manager in the next 24 hours, according to Sky sources.
paddymac Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 Its a pity as he was doing such a great job at united :emoticon-0136-giggle:

BIGPETE Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 I was a fan of Moyes during his time at Everton and had a lot of respect for him as a no nonsense sort of guy. I'm not a fan of Man United but think he need be given more time. Everton have done really well but only on the basis of the quality of players they have been able to loan in. Without the loanee's they wouldn't have reached the dizzy heights where they are. People will say Everton are better without Moyes, but not really a fair comparison given the players loaned in. Even Fergie knew his first 11 weren't up for the job, hence bringing Scholesy out of retirment. I would stick with Moyesy and give him another season to proove himself. What's the alternative sack him and pay him off for a load of dosh (that could be better spent on rebuilding)? I would say Man United are only a few players off of being a top team again. Sure Martinez is doing well, but let's not forget so did Laudrup for a season and then fell by the wayside. Anyone can have a good year, people forget Martinez saw his team relegated not so long ago! Grass is always greener etc etc.
JohnQuinn Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 Man Utd DO NOT sack managers. He will get money to bring in his own players for next season and take them back to the top again. In saying that, i thought Martinez would have done a great job at Utd with the quality of players they can attract and i also think he will manage Barca in the future. IMO he is one of the best coaches around Europe just now.
GRAHAM MITCHELL Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 I think he deserves another season to see what he can do with the new players he is going to have to bring in.Imo he only needs to bring in 4 defenders as the midfield and forwards don't seem to bad.
billt Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 You have to hand it to Fergie he knew they were not going to compete this year and it was a good time to leave
Guest bigda Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 You have to hand it to Fergie he knew they were not going to compete this year and it was a good time to leave could be rangers new manager, ally aint doing it
billt Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 could be rangers new manager, ally aint doing it I thought they are just about top of their league
wullybhoy Posted April 21, 2014 Report Posted April 21, 2014 He will be sacked by Tuesday IMO the rumor is they are getting 150 million to spend and they don't think he's the man to get the right players IMO
Guest bigda Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 I thought they are just about top of their league wouldnt it be even sader, if he wasnt top of the leauge
Guest bigda Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 it took alex ferguson 3 years to make it at united his results where very poor at one time
geordie1234 Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 Sacked!!! 6 year deal paid up Ryan Giggs in charge until the end of the season

JohnQuinn Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 Just seen it on Sky Ian, they aught to be ashamed of themselves. I am disgusted with this decision considering they poached him out of a job he had for years, didn't buy the players he wanted in and not even given him a season to sort out an ageing squad of the dead wood. Totally disgusted.

walterboswell59 Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 agree with you 100 percent john but also thought the players let the man down badly

Tony C Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 Shame, would have loved to see him take them into the Sky Bet Championship.

peter pandy Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 A manager puts a team out to perform to the best of their ability which has not happened this season so to my mind it is down to the players not the manager. My only regret was Dave moving on Sir Alex's backroom staff and thought at the time it could be a massive error which has basically been proved correct as half of them did not look fit this past season. I to am gutted as I was offered a brief for their last game including hotel accomodation but turned it down due to the rumours.
JohnQuinn Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 John they are American owned they will not tolerate failure at any cost as that is not profitable for them it's all about bucks to them Yes Ian, their values are the $$$$ and loyalty/patience is alien to them, think that's the difference at Utd now. Was hearing he is the shortest reigning manager since 1931/32 and i suppose that highlights the difference at the club more than anything. Still think they aught to be ashamed of themselves though.
