Good luck guys, sky now has some nice blue patches in and a light North west wind, think it will be a steady race, but tough for the longer flyers

Fanciers in Scotland have been spoiled when it comes to marking, these times are suited for the fanciers and not the pigeons, time to bring marking forward which would have easily allowed for a liberation the next day,

below is the pick up times for the Midlands national flying club. So its high time we the members take decisions for the pigeons welfare, not saying that we have to pick pigeons up at 7am, but if marking was brought forward 3 hours then this could make all the difference.

GRIMSBY/CLEETHORPES

6.45am to 8.00am

KINGS LYNN

6.45am to 8.00am

ATHERSTONE

10.00am to 11.30am

RAUNDS

9.00am to 11.00am

SPALDING

7.30am to 8.30am

Western Pick-Up

CONNAH'S QUAY

6.45am to 8.00am

LIVERPOOL

6.00am to 8.30am

BOLTON

And fair play to you for making yourself available to get your pigeons away, time for the rest of us to follow with early pick ups (when required)

do you think this will reduce the birdage with some members not able or willing to take time off

I know that if you want birds away most folk will help each other in most cases

but others wont bother due to the hassle

If you have to bring marking forward by a few hours or even a whole day, if it is beneficial to the birds then it should be done.Surely we wan't the best weather conditions for the birds. Mind you it has to be beneficial to the whole club. As for today? good luck to the North birds.

weather in the n/east 4miles east of consett-------been a good but cold morning had some sun and while it was out it was nice.

took a couple of pics --very little wind but cold enough to chill your cheeks-birds will definately feel it .

hope your birds are ok in the feather.

Looking around my own club with 27 members, there possibly would only be 3 members that would struggle but plenty of guys that would assist.

Good post gives us an idea what birds are coming through. Would be a good regular feature.

Surely these guys that work can arrange to get thier birds picked up or dropped off, i have too. Where there's a will there's a way.

rab there is not a problem the only time a problem arises is when guys don't want to work around it when we basket early I either have a half day holiday or a holiday so if theres a will theres a way just always some folk want to see the negatives not positives
