Walter swanston Posted June 7, 2013 Author Report Posted June 7, 2013 Well that's why I started this thread, the last two questions should be available on a modernised website

Walter swanston Posted June 7, 2013 Author Report Posted June 7, 2013 Glad to hear it all I am trying to ask is that information should be available on the website as it happens but I got sidetracked I to a depressing argument about workers at marking stations
eastcoaster Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 If the members that were at Newhouse marking station put as much effort into carrying baskets to the transporter as thy do at putting messages on here the transporters would have been loaded a lot quickerI totally agree , they also kept asking for a space to be left so they could load lorry but every one kept blocking it , also think each club fed should take turns marking say 5 till 6 and so on` on a rotating basis .

bullcock Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Anyone else having problems on the SNFC web site ?Cant get by the first page?
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Problem with websites is they need someone who knows about them to update them, also I believe or have been told that it would cost a lot of money to update the site due to being ill advised when it was set up first. I also believe this would be better put in a letter to the Sec and then you may get something done, putting it on a forum will def not bring about the changes that you wantRoll on 2014 AGM, take your sleeping bags as you'll need them.
Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Anyone else having problems on the SNFC web site ?Cant get by the first page? Yes same here cant get on any pages

Guest IB Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Well as a member of the SNFC Management Committee I have raised the subject of modernising (not just) the website at every meeting I have attended. To be fair, the response that I'm getting that spending funds on doing that cannot be justified in the current financial climate is a reasonable one, but I have also picked up that the Committee aren't aware that there is a desire from the membership for spending funds on modernisation. The only way that a want can be made known by members is to have it on the Agenda for discussion at an AGM. So to be fair to Henrik and Walter both, yes this is not the place to make changes happen at SNFC, but it is a reasonable place to discuss issues of concern to see if there is a concensus of opinion.
Novice Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Anyone else having problems on the SNFC web site ?Cant get by the first page? I had problems with this about 2 months ago after I downloaded Internet Explorer---10 I think. The only way I could access the site was by using Google Chrome as my browser. I hope this resolves your issue.
Guest stb- Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Aye well you,ve had plenty practice at moaning then eh, over 80 yrs experience, by the way I am also sec of Fed ,Pres of club and these two jobs are a damn sight easier than trying to run a marking station.sit doon bobbie , i think walters is a valid sujestion

JADE Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Why dont you come and join the happy band on the committee then Walter, then you could help modernise the website and all the rest, or are you just someone who comes on forums and moans? Are you Bigda in disguise? Getting a bit fed up of knockers who do nothing, asked at the marking last night for someone to man a ringer and out of a hall full of people, not one knew how to work a ringer, they all knew how to make a racket so you had difficulty in hearing basket numbers tho, all knew how to stand at a bar. Thinking we should just close the Musselburgh marking station then we could all go to another one and stand about doing *expletive removed* all. Also the lib-line is there as not everyone has access to or are able to use Smart Phones or Computers, as we all know the majority of pigeon men nowadays are over 50. While I have sympathy with your difficulty running a marking station your answer to criticism (often constructive) is always "well if your no happy get on the committee". You must admit the SNFC website is badly in need of improvement. We are in the 21st century with modern means of communication and what is on offer is not good enough. If it needs money to sort it then so be it. I am quite happy for the subs to increase to cover the cost. If it means paying someone to update the arrivals on race day then again add the cost to the birdage. If the members wont agree to cover the cost then they will have to make do with what they have at present. One thing required to make the "live" update during races work is that it must be COMPULSORY FOR EVERY MEMBER to phone in their first arrival.
walterboswell59 Posted June 7, 2013 Report Posted June 7, 2013 Roll on 2014 AGM, take your sleeping bags as you'll need them.whose carrying the the big screen lol

I still dont think the sujestion for a more updated website is knocking anyone . You do a thankless job m8 well done to you . Newhouse was very busy on one of the hottest days of the year so far and with it being lanarkshire feds central marking place there were a load more folk trying to get doos through than normal .
