wullie semple
if the bird can time then fly away your trap is not legal as it was not trapped when timed im afraid thats why its bobs then pads h u rule is e t s can only record the arrival time after the pigeon has entered the loft does not state bobs should be inside or outside
greenlands
RPRA rule 241. The positioning of the ETS sensors/antennae will not be allowed on any landingboards or other external surfaces in such away that when the loft is closed noelectronic chip ring may be recorded by theElectronic Timing System installed. ClubOfficials may make random checks at anytime. Contravention of this rule will result indisciplinary action under Rule 70(a). No mention of bob wires ?? Guest pigeongirl
So by RPRA rule 241 you are breaking no union law with your trap.
billt
So by RPRA rule 241 you are breaking no union law with your trap. I think that is breaking the rule as it say's, No timing outside a closed loft, which it would be outside of the bobs, I don't think their wording of this rule is very clearly written

Obviously yours are legal as your pads are behind the bobs and the birds would be trapped, I presume you are saying he could shut the door behind the bird

But yes they could shut the door behind them but also in my old loft i had the ets pad infront of the bobs in the corridor of the loft and was also told it was legal as it was not on an external landing board but I dont fly RPRA and wouldnt like to point someone in the wrong direction. i aint getting into an argument i am only expressing my opinion. so i will leave it at that. If in doubt ask your union or ask your federation or regional representative.

I don't know if your rules there are different but that set-up would be illegal in Wales

cemetary
Ave been to some pigeon huts where guys fly open doors, what the have is, the pad in the hut obviosley, and as soon as the doo traps through open door to its box, the guy goes over and takes the doo from its box and swipes against the pad, hows that, SIMPLES,
MIK
Im going to use ets first time this year. I dont know why, i was quite happy with T3. If ye all can try and picture this without photo as i havent made box yet. I normally had a drop trap on landing board, but i intend to make a box to cover drop so i can include pad. Pad will be underneath landing board in close proximity to drop, an external box will be made to completely cover width of pad with bob wires external to pad. Box will also have a flip lid that can close. Now this is my pickle, i would like to make this box portable, and by that i mean move to YB loft later on in the year. It can and will be screwed to whatever loft its in. would be nice to hear thoughts on this. atbMick

walterboswell59
the bird must be trapped shu rule came about because pad inside loft can mean on roof or on boxed in landing boards where birdjust has to land and is timed outside loft
