sammy
Had three later bred pigeons out today and thought cause they were bred out of season and not been out for awhile and being a bit cold decided to put a wee jacket on them to keep them warm and of they went good i thought they will see a bit of the country today ,two returned after 45 minutes and thought the other one would not be far away ,but waited and waited only for it to return at 4 30 minus its wee jacket along with some tail/wing feathers so just hope whoever took the jacket of my late bred gets kept warm :emoticon-0136-giggle:

The day it got the 3rd bird, I followed to where it landed and frightened it off the carcass, whereupon I found the heads of my two other hens and some of their entrails, which it had removed prior to "parcelling" them and carrying them back t the sitting hen ! billt
I was informed by a good source that the Goshawk always rips the head off first... That could well be true in the case of the female as she is so much bigger and more powerful, She literally snatches and goes so little chance of seeing the outcome, I've not seen a head off in the male attack and there have been many in the last few years
