Loft Visits

With loft visits what have been the the Celebrities that have impressed you most.Ours are meeting up with the Great McALONEYS from Coatbridge .:scotland:The McGhies from Newmains,Jock Poole Newmains and George Brownlie of Carluke.We also had a visit to Hume & Culry Lofts and the grate Andra Deans of Bothwell.

must be for me john duthies and bruce mckenzies lofts who ive wrote about and have been gifted pigeons off there best to breed from and have had some tips and kelloe king jimmy bamling who gifted me off his best

Been tae loads of great lofts doon here but didny count them as visits cos they wer fellow fed members :emoticon-0136-giggle:

Went tae the macaloneys as a wee boy wae ma dad and the late John Crook and it was magical handling them doos!!!!

As a member of Ecclefechan handled most of John Carmichaels birds which wer exceptional!

JL Roberts Delbars wer amazing and Trevor Robinson of Hull when I was aboot ten was the best!!! The reds wer summit else!

That man is an absolute gentleman and after seeing his lofts i decided to build an aviary to keep my birds in all winter

interesting piont ,is there much diffrence in temperatures between where he is and you ?/ do you think thats still ok ? also weather conditions ? genuine question ,not knocking your choice.

I have found my birds to be in fantastic condition so far

I guess the temp is a lot warmer and drier in Holland than the west coast of Scotland

is it wrong??? i will tell you next year

Still own a lovely cheq cock i got from john ,bred down from his national winner Gillion x westra Edd It has bred some wonderful pigeons,met john through a friend who was working on a pipeline in 2002 he stayed at a country hotel along the road from john's and he and john became great friends his name was Vincent price (Vince)tell john we are both asking of him .

Mine is not just a loft visit, but a couple of villages?!!

Going back to when I was a laddie, Coalburn/Lesmahagow was the best place in the world to me, full of National Flyers. Names like the Harrisons, Scott Bros, Gray & Mitchell, Auld Tam Meikle and Alec his son, Bobby Hislop, Wee Billy Davidson, Kerr Stainthrope,Aitken & Walker, John Cosgrove etc. sorry if I missed anyone out.

This was in the days when the SNFC was King, and if you had Doos you were a nobody until you had scored in the Nats.I used to tag along with my dad on the Sunday after Rennes to The Inn's at Coalburn where the men used to meet and talk about the race, and listened to all the stories about the birds that had or hadn't scored, and gobbled it all up, loved it and wouldn't have missed it for the world. Great Times and still think about them.

the best loft of pigeons ive seen were bernard deweerts of kortermark belgium pure class a true family of pigeons

Going to Eddie Newcome's loft as a 12 year old boy, seen Red Rock, The Blonde and many other top pigeons, i was fascinated with everything i seeen from the dookits to the doos and the Feeding he used. Fist time i ever saw Peanuts being fed to doos and some of them were in big lumps of Toffee, apparently his friend worked in a sweet factory or something like that. He was the master of them all, JMO.
