greenlands Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 http://www.chevita.com/en/pigeons/treatment-plan/information-candida.php If you have any nystatin give the bird two drops down the throat and the rest 2ml/litre of water for 3 to 4 days. Lindsay
blue lad Posted October 7, 2011 Author Report Posted October 7, 2011 I dont have any of the stufF . But will try a shot of live probiotic yogurt down the hatch first.
REDCHEQHEN Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 charcoal capsules from Holland and Barrett (you need to open the capsule and empty contents down throat) and I think you should be able to get charcoal tablets from most chemists I would continue with the cider vinegar also (1 or 2ml direct in to crop - that is a couple of drops) but try and empty youngsters crop of stagnant water first
greenlands Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Correct Sue,most chemists sell the tabs, rather large so I break them in half.
andy Burgess Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 theres good advice "blue lad" ,i would follow that too.
OLDYELLOW Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 100 charcoal TABLETS boots the chemist £3.11 I think they were usually in the digestion section
Tony C Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Nothing wrong with the advice given above BUT should the pigeons condition suddenly deteriorate and die (or any of your other pigeons show the same symptoms) get one of to a vet asap. There's being something knocking around where pigeons drink to excess and keel over in very quick time.

Guest IB Posted October 9, 2011 Report Posted October 9, 2011 Agree with ALF on this one. When birds start dying on you it becomes a case of making sure the others are safe. A bird as sick as that becomes a danger to the rest. Safer to dispose of it, then do a thorough clean & disinfection job throughout the whole loft.
