Firstly, very well done to each and everyone that timed in.

However, the decision to holdover yesterday and liberate today beggared belief and was a poor one, full marks to the SNRPC controlling team for their efforts on what turned out to be a good race yesterday.

Just returned from the south section clock reading, 30 timed from 128 birds, does that constitute to a good race..... far from it, so once all the back slapping has ended spare a thought for the missing birds in the south section

Like I said Chris a strong wind with poor weather can still blow the pigeons into certain areas and be hell for others. As my post before, we will have to wait a day or two to see whether it can be classed as a good race, but it doesn't look great for the South Section or Sect F. Hope they work in for you.

Apart from King Billy who has a fantastic race, returns in general from the west are approx 50% which is not great for a south, south west wind. One of the worst conditions young birds have experienced flying from the young bird nationals in the last 20 years.

Have no doubt that a fairer kinder race would have been had by all into all parts of Scotland if a late lib had taken place yesterday, that said we did get a race and can be thankful for that.

With only 25% of the doos home in the Solway it tells us what direction the pigeons in the west came from.

i am not long back from the clock station and returns were very good,i can understand your annoyed as the solway returns seem to be poor, maybe there are a lot more doos home chris as these quick races fanciers tend to think that the race is all over quickly and lose interest as there are only 13 prizes in your section,i agree that yesterday was missed although imo todays outcome is not that bad. :) :)

HI GUYS

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA AS TO THE POSSIBLE WINNER AND CLOSEST CONTENDERS TO THE WINNER?

My guess is George Mclain Duns, closely followed by Gordon McKenzie Broxburn.

Doesn't look like the SNRPC's race was all fun and games yesterday either to be honest.Maybe they've made the best of a bad situation??

Not really what anybody can class as pigeon racing weather this weekend at all

Its fairly simple bad weather on the whole usually means bad racing

I can understand you feeling sore and hope the missing birds (from all areas) turn up but there are many races when the south race is finished and there is little chance of birds north of the central belt and especially in the north section on the day. Then you get a bad second day like Clermont this year when it rained most of the Saturday. You have to take the rough with the smooth in this game and when fanciers are timing half their entry within twenty minutes you can hardly call it a bad race. I think the snrpc took a chance yesterday and got away with it and the snfc took a chance today probably because of the forecast for the next two days and they also got away with it.

Have never seen a YBN with 75% returns,by the looks ov it both clubs have had decent returns from not an easy race.So look forward tae next season now. :emoticon-0167-beer: :emoticon-0167-beer: :emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0138-thinking:

gareth why do you always keep slaging the race controllers on the decisions being made for the benefit of the birds the forcast we had was not favourable for everyone you go on about the snrpc liberating if they had heldover there would have been nothing said you also say we could have lib at 13.00hrs remember it is called a national for the whole of scotland not for the lanarkshire fed if your not happy go and join the other national the forcast for today sunday through most of the route was a hellava lot better than saturday with clear blue sky and sunshine with a strong s.w.wind which was never going to favour the solway or west section it was just unfortunate about the rain in the west as regards returns I think returns have been good for most but if you are not happy put yourself forward the job next year (god help us)

Peter sorry if my constructive posts on libs dos not please you but like the hundreds of other SNFC members on here I am entitled to an opinion.

Perhaps I should go under the name of Rocky on this forum then my posts will be less likely to offend you.

Rightly or wrongly I stand by every post that I have ever made on liberations. J m o

well, looks like both nationals had very good returns, pity the whole of scotland did not have blue sky's and no wind for a fair race, but we know before we put the birds away to the race that it does not always turn out that way. well done all who timed especially the leading birds.

personally , i dont think committee members or race controllers should pass comment on open forums however hard it is when others have a go, wait till the AGM then say your peace, and yes there are plenty who say a lot and do *expletive removed* all to help at marking's clock setting's etc. IMO

This was the best y/bird national race for birds clocked we have had for years.

Some fanciers might have only had 40% returns but quite a few had more than 90% returns.

3/3,7/8 ect, I had 5/5.There were so many birds timed that when I was doing the result for the lads at the clock station I had to

disguard any Aberdeen birds timed after 13.30.

I have attached the resut done in Aberdeen,THis is not the full result as some clocks were done at the Banff clock station and are not encluded.
