yes joe pi-- off down the west but you seen what happened down there this week you would be cleaned out.

less hawks down east side but maybe time to fly from east or west flying off a boat out to sea instead of over land .

take it that your hard to satisfie?all us have lost more than usual but i have heard that various towns now have their own nesting pairs of perigrins.

What were the returns like in Midlothian this week from Leyland, only seen the one post and he had only 7/13?

I fly with the midland now bobby as you know they fly the west and i have had horrendous losses and so have my club mates ! personally Longtown is the biggest problem coming up the terror valley , and for some reason all the other members tell me stafford terrible too, but to be honest as your lot (east scotland /pentland)know after getting hammered yourself`s last week don`t think it matters now whre you go , tossed 8 today from doug`s garden and am 3 missing 2 of them were at 110 mls last week . :emoticon-0138-thinking:

Your right mate. This the second year we been gutted.think no more y/b racing for us.Look for a mid-week club as i think its clashing that is causing most of our problems on a Saturday, after the first couple of Races anyway

The Clydesdale Tuesday club have been getting excellent racing this season from Dunbar(50miles) and Tranent maybe this is the way forward, youngsters schooled and educated and there for yearlings.

so in the three longtowns the midland fed have raced you have not heard of anyone with big losses , for me i am trying to settle strange birds to a strange area so don`t consider my losses as anyone`s fault , but drive down through the longtown route and see for yourself , but as i said earlier everyone is getting hammered . ask your mate mr gibson how many doo`s he has lost this year and he is not alone ,,omo of coarse .

whos mate mr gibson dont know who ur talking about our club fauldhouse race with the midland fed and we are getting good racing is it not true ur fed was rife wae young bird sickness at start of season

The one thing that i have noticed different this year so far with young birds is your getting the first ones on time and for the next hour then nothing for 3-4 hours and nothing turning up the next day

The 3 to 4hr gap is probably the time it takes for the birds to get back onto line after bop strike, and as for next day birds they have either been taken or have flown too far to return.

East is OK if you live in the east ,I was one of the people who pushed for our fed the solway to go east a few years ago,but now truly believe we should be on line and go west ,bop everywhere now and multiplying each season ,prevailing winds at this time of year for Yb's is usually SW which means our convoy have to face into it to come back over the 66,whereas down the west they can hold line ,also far to many feds racing the east route with clashing a major problem for our small convoy ,believe yesterday we got a stinker and with birds not working today they must never have came over into the cumbria -solway area ,also yesterday the solway birds that did come on line must have crossed swords with the midlothian birds somewhere in cumbria ,as i fly the same distance into moffat from both race points and they were liberated at the same time, there were certainly small groups and single birds working up through moffat which must have been midlothian as midland would have been well clear by then ,but bird of prey strikes every few miles now is certainly the governing factor ,forget about all this sun flair nonsense ,must have been no solar activity in the good old days ? certainly were no peregrines :emoticon-0138-thinking:

dont think midlothian and solway would clash on saturday as our birds from leyland were doing around 55mph and should have been in front of solway birds

nope andy but u be same if yer fed change to the west lucky be in top fifteen thats why dont want the change more intressed in results than the pigeons wellfare

Posted

its easy fixed joe, get all your mates that want it changed to west to go to the agm and vote. i'll vote west.

we did last time mate dalzell prposed it but got change after old bird races cause never suited some fed toppers not getting ant tickest so never even got full season down the west
