Took a thumping from Blandford with the Kent Cosmo. 7 short from 23 sent.  Have since got two back, one badly torn up.  All the ones missing are yearlings.

First Channel race for the Solent Fed from St Malo  160ml, held till 12.30 due to weather,  birds about 1hr slower than anticipated.  Returns at clocks was about 50% , birds were still working in up to dark and next morning. I got 11/14, my Uncle got 16/16 but some fanciers weren't so lucky.

We were expecting 50mph plus but the Fed winners were just above the 40mph.  Looking at the Solent early times the birds seem to have kept to the French coast before crossing east of the Isle of Wight.

The wind in the Channel must have been stronger West and colder than we thought.

I was well off the pace but happy to clock, not what was wanted for our first Channel race, bound to affect birdage next week.

Think we got 25/24  ? we got the one we lost last week , in east scotland  , a bit of the pace again but think they were walking the first week and  jogging this week  just watch out boys when they  start to run  lol lol

13 out of 13 my 9 w/h cocks struggled and where spread out the 4 spare hens came ok but way of the pace i may even be last man at the club.Should be back up to scratch next week though.And hens looking good for first national
