Delboy
Hours of Darkness for Maidstone 22:30 to 05:00; Reims 22:15 to 05:15 . How on earth did the committee decide on these times John? its probably the worst calculation of H.O.D i've ever seen.

Johnleg
THIS RESPONSE TO THE TWO DEREKS, IS NOT FROM THE SNFC, IT IS JUST MY EXPLANATION AS TO WHY I THINK THE HOD ARE AT PROBABLY AN IMPROVMENT FROM 2019.SUNRISE FOR JULY 24th. IS 5.13am, SUNRISE FOR JULY 31st.IS 5.22am,SNFC HOD FOR JULY 24th. IS 5.00am, SNFC HOD FOR JULY 31ST,IS 5.15am SO I DONT THINK THEY ARE TOO MUCH OUT OF KILT, IF AT ALL.NOW THE DIFFICULTY ARISES WHEN TRYING TO GET THE RIGHT CLOSE TIME, BECAUSE AS WE ALL KNOW THE FURTHER NORTH YOU GO, ITS THAT LITTLE BIT LIGHTER,LAST YEAR ROYE WAS ON THE 19th. JULY AND CLOSED AT 22.30 UNTIL 5.00am. THIS YEAR REIMS 22.15 UNTIL 5.15am. FOR 12 DAYS LATER.{no complaints last year}SO ITS A TOUGH ONE TO GET IT SPOT ON, I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN OF THE OPINION THAT, THAT LAST BIRD AT NIGHT CLOSES THE RACE, FIRST BIRD IN THE MORNING OPENS THE RACE,BUT AGAIN THERE ARE SOME OF THE OPINION THAT THIS SYSTEM COULD BE MANIPULATED. PLEASE DONT COME BACK AT ME WITH YOUR ANSWERS, AS I SAID, ITS JUST MY OPINION.THERE IS ALWAYS THE PROCESS OF LODGING AN OBJECTION WITH SNFC. Delboy
As I said before, we are miles away from what the real hours of darkness are. This must be addressed ASAP because it has cost fanciers National wins and averages etc. How on earth can the hours of darkness be the same at the start of June as it is the end of June? We should adopt the NFC rulings on this imo.
