With distance pigeons Bill, as you know if the fanciers who had them never gave them the years, they'd never know. Sprint birds in my opinion should if good enough score every year, but with some of the distance pigeons I played with when we was soley concentrated on Lerwick, wouldn't show anything till 2 years old. But the flame may have been lit again. Going from a team of sprinting where success should be instant to a team of distance pigeons requires patience, patience in waiting for the birds for 10 hours plus, and patience for them to gain enough experience before they really start to excel. I think sprint pigeons are very quick maturers the opposite can be said for distance birds in my opinion. Regarding Mark Bulled in my opinion his one of the best this country has seen an exceptional fancier

Brokamp is only part of the Machines Story bill, you'll know the other half is an Aaelbrecht De Rauw Sablon. A very big mistake I feel I made, I was offered the Aaelbrechts and De Rauw Sablons in 07, when a good friend of mine had bought them in, but I turned them down as I was and still am enjoying my sprinting at the time. But I wish I'd have tried them as when you get to the 400,500, 600 miles in a head wind requires a different type of pigeon.
  4. If money was no option, I'd buy all the winners be them national or international over the last 3 years at my selected distance, and build a family around them. I would not be afraid to introduce a top sprint pigeon into the family either once it has established.

You'd have to break the bank to afford them also.
  6. Try the multivit on the grain, and see if you notice a difference
  7. A healthy bird should have a steady drop of down. If you want more cut garlic into pea size pieces and put three directly down the throat for 3 days. If you don't fancy that put something in the drinker they do not like the taste of, you'll get a big fall of down, but it isn't in the shape of health or form.
  8. It has took a bash somewhere
  9. Read some where they could see upto 30 miles
  10. Been nice 36 miles north west of Maidstone since day break, Slight W N W but not alot if wind about
  11. I'm 36 miles north west of Maidstone, brilliant visibility, cloud is breaking, mild conditions with a W N W wind

I got a yearling at 11 hours most never had day birds. Not the combine winner but a bird with spirit to stay on the wing for 11 hours
  13. Well done. I know I asked the question before regarding the Maltese pigeon, but are you going to purchase the mnfc winner, and his parents back?
  14. Ovy if there is a smell in the loft produced from the droppings, 9/10 times I would say you have a yeast infection it's a tale tale sign.
  15. Email him back and tell him he must contact Paul Smith of regency lofts, or Colin Surtees
  16. I agree with Tony that something else is at play. I feel if young bird sickness goes over 3 days a secondary infection is more at play.
  17. Blue I'll send you a pm
  18. Cheers guys
  19. Blue Bar what country do you race in as I know of no young bird racing going this far into the year on the British isles. For the darkness system to be effective you need at the minimum of 6 weeks. But they'll go into a moult quicker.
  20. Us north roaders have it on the konk, I'd be surprised if the leading birds do less then 47 mile an hour

  22. In my opinion there excellant never let me down
  23. If they've been going out for quiet a few weeks I'd be expecting more then ten minutes from them. In my opinion you have two options of the cause, the first route I would look at is that there too fat, and overweight, I would then lighten the feed, there exercise period would also increase dramatically. If after you've gone down the route of them being too heavy I would suspect a respiratory disease. Once treated you should notice a dramatic improvement after just a few days if the treatment is effective they'll stop panting and start to fly the skies out

I'll be taking mine of June 16th, it's something we do every year. It's when we need to start getting our young birds out. Our young birds are only let out at weekends, from weaning until June the 16th. June 16th is when daily flying will take place. if all goes well, gives us 3 weeks to get them flying well, then roughly 3 weeks to get them trained. They will compete the complete programme.
  25. I think if your game is distance racing as yearlings and older single tossing as baby's would have benefits. But for sprint racing I want my team to perform as a team especially as young birds so it's counter productive.
