  1. I have many elderberry bushes in my garden and they come in there droves, never suffered any problems. I'd be more inclined if there coming down with stuff there catching them in the race basket. Your pigeons are only as clean as your dirtiest club member.
  2. There's a break for us Southern lads at Newark, looks as if we have a chance of a lib, as long as birds are home by 12, with a north west wind perdicted they should motor home.
  3. There's a lot of old pigeons, up and down the country showing signs of adenovirus, according to Internet reports. A top Belgian vet recently wrote an article about it
  4. Conset, you'll have to explain more by what you mean healthier and stronger? Do you think your birds are unwell?

  7. Well East London went up with the Amal at 7.00 from Ripon I've spoke to a few fanciers and returns are extremely poor. Personally I only have at the moment 5/16 and the birds have been flying well at club and fed level

That particular toulet had timed 6 national winners. I will be doing what the 6 previous owners did and will be burying it 3 foot underground for the evening before.

Urely £40 for a toulet, I'd be surprised if it makes £20, although best example of a toulet I've seen in years
  11. Chad when pigeons have young bird sickness, you want things that past through the system quickly, you also want to control what there eating. Personally grit is the only essential product to give pigeon but it is also heavy, and has a salt content. You could give it to them, but a day without food, and a light feed for the next two days, I'd be worried they'd eat more grit then would actually be needed, causing them to drink more making thing counter productive.
  12. Personally I've had young bird sickness the last 10 or more years. In my opinion if your having to treat with an antibiotic to over come young bird sickness, you have a bigger problem then young bird sickness. Young bird sickness can be resolved in 3 days, and a difference in the birds can be seen in 48 hours. Many suggest small seeds, in my opinion, the first day no feed then a diet of 100% pellet should be fed, as any pigeon that is vomiting will vomit only 'mash' enabling no other pigeon to pick up the vomited feed. Hence controlling other birds being contaminated. In the drinker should be an electrolyte, glucose mixture. They also need plenty of rest. After 3 days let them out and offer them a bath. How they exercise and if they take a bath will gauge the birds health. Unhealthy birds will not bathe. IF and only IF they haven't shown any sign of improvement or full recovery, a secondary infection would have taken hold of your birds, And alternative treatment would need to be seeked. No grit or minerals are offered to the birds during any of this period
  13. I've never been afraid of big jumps Lindsay we underestimate our birds too much. When we was Lerwick minded my candidates first race of the year would be just short of 200 miles. But the weather looks poor for Saturday, there's an opening for libs on Sunday but everyone will have a similar idea.
  14. Rest in peace. A lot of my birds come through Maurices birds. He will be missed.
  15. Sean McDonough without a shadow of doubt in the hot bed of sprint racing. Unfortunately he started to sell a few on pipa, so his prices may have raised.

Cecil and Mark Bullards pigeons without a shadow of a doubt the Old Westcotts and a touch of Soontjen. People talk about Pat O Sullivan from Enfield but I've never heard of him placing in any other distance event such as Berwick, Stonehaven, Arbroath or Thurso.

    Flying

Keep it up they'll soon be going on the run. If they run for more then 30 minutes I personally feel it's time to get them down the road.

There was a big boom of fanciers with the Figuritas a couple of years back in the north east. I'm sure someone can direct me the right way, I've emailed Tammy and the BHW. There's a few fancy men on here that might see this post and they may know a contact or source to direct me too.

Cheers Andy, I saw them at Blackpool, if I wasn't taking back two boxes I would have purchased them then. Do you know if people show the Figuritas? They'd be an ideal breed for him I feel because of there small stature.

Anyone know a breeder of these? My 4 year old boy is showing a great interest in pigeons, and I knew when I was younger fancy birds bought for me by my dad got me hooked at a similar age. I think he would fall in love with them, ideally I think a couple of matched pairs would be ideal.
