  1. I'm 683 feet above sea level, so although it is downhill from Lesmahagow, it is uphill from Kirky, so that must be why I don't win. Why the blue blazes my doos go to Lesmahagow and Kirkie before they come here I don't know, guess they just like flying up and down hills.
  2. Well done.
  3. Well done.
  4. Well done.
  5. Well done to all three.
  6. What should the feeding be if this is the case because I have tried several different types of mixes?
  7. Done that and they don't. Gave them a light feed in the morning before letting them out and they don't. Seems they just don't range. The odd one or two have gone on a wander, but it is rare, they just don't seem to range. There are times when they are out of sight, but they usually appear fairly quickly and my understanding of ranging is they are away for hours, they don't.
  8. It is a repeat and the guy comes up with a comical use for a deep sea divers helmet and keeps his pigeons.
  9. None of mine ever range never mind the later bred ones, having said that I can see for about 30 miles south, west and north, so when they are up flying who knows how far they can see. You may gather I live up a height.
  10. I just feed the same. Only difference is some extra beans peas mix and more barley. As they progress through the moult the beans peas mix will be reduced to zero and the barley will be increased.
  11. Dual racepoints and controller given the latitude to chose dependant on weather conditions is the way forward. There should also be more flexibility when the race takes place, Friday to Monday for liberations to save time in baskets. It makes sense nowadays when better information is available.
  12. I know some who are good at launching dummies.
  13. I don't know if they have room for movement, but since they voted for the joint convoying, you would expect there must be. Joint convoying, never mind amalgamation, will not work without come and go from all parties.
  14. I have never met you John, but I feel it is about time someone took the lead in this sport and made moves to sort it. You, along with the likes of Stuart Mullen, have done so for fanciers in the West.
  15. Not really!!! If all the Feds concerned except Lanarkshire go east, then joint convoying is still a goer. If it is an even split, 3 and 3, then it is still a goer for two different lots. John has started the ball rolling and I believe will facilitate the move towards joint convoying, but he is intelligent enough to realise that there is a lot of movement required before ANY form of amalgamation could occur.
  16. Once all the relevant Federations have set their own race programmes the relevant Federation Officials will meet and discuss joint convoying. Obviously not all programmes will be the same, so there will be some come and go required to make it work. This is the part where the Federation Officials shall require understanding from their members and be allowed the latitude to negotiate what will be the best financially for the Federation and more importantly, what will be the best for the birds coming into the West of Scotland.
  17. Well done John. Hope it happens.
  18. Amazed at how lucky I have been so far. Usually I have to lock them up from mid to late August, but they are still out just now, early October. Having said that, I am opening up at various times, so there is no regularity and some days they are out twice, others just the once. The club nearest to my area didn't race YB's due to sickness and I have heard a few comments about the lower numbers of BOP this year. Coincidence?
  19. Unless you use the Doric, then even the Scots can struggle.
  20. If you are typing on a computer just run a spell check. Having said that, it doesn't catch them all.
  21. Are you a true Scotsman under that kilt?
  22. Welcome to the site.
  23. Compatability has sorted it. Thanks.
  24. I have the exact same problem and struggle to get round it.
