We all understand the scourge, but the rings should be able to last, whereas on the 2013 ones the plastic has started splitting and if water reaches inside the numbers would become unreadable.

There has only been one other complaint on this thread. The reason I introduced cost is because the complaints have only arisen since changing to the Chinese suppliers and that was done for cost reasons.
