Released Pigeons Castle Stuart Inverness sh**
Roland replied to Simonmurray4747's topic in Notice Board
Who counted them in such a quick fly over DJWa? Having said that, I personally wouldn't say here how many. But I get your drift. I hoped you would get mine. I actually first saw and followed an Scotland Own article regards Newcombe who became such a good fancier. He said he was fed up with holding up the bottom of the race list. So sent his birds out in all weathers in the winter. said it meant only those wanting to be in his loft was there. the rest wasn't. Strays reported he made a present off. Just look how he was a very good flyer. -

Yeah, Most likely some getting a little experience for their late bred. I used to pick the odd decent day(s) to toss them... and others did. Indeed won the scottish averages (Old birds) with such next season. We expect youngsters to fly the programme aa after a couple of months being born ... Especially the first bred in late March or later. But not late breds 7 months or so old! Like I posted just a little while back (3 weeks I'd say) I saw exactly the same thing. Late bred used to support a poor old birds season. Started many a good loft. Bought cheap from Widowerhood boys after mating late etc. ... Then of course they too did keep and do as such with their late bred... What's the difference between the youngsters bred December and raced At te same age? -
Were a good rock and roll band.

I have a copy about 20 years old... some where! It was a very good book to read and had many great tales of an interest. War pigeons and how they were kept and homed etc. How - the Canadians were past masters - they were used to fly at night. Released at 5,000 feet and flew home 200 mto 300 miles in the dark. Doubt, sadly, that I will find it any time soon though. If I do and when I'd gladly give you a shout. Feel the main auther passed on. Was it a Jim Murphy? ... My mind is stretching there though. I hope you find a reading. Will be pleasing to read.

True walterboswell59 Just look at the fields and how level they grow, When I was a youngster walking the fields it was nigh ALL a different height etc. Mind the real reason THAT we have G/M feeds is because it can be patterned. So that is in it's self a big money earner.

Well Mambo, Dafra still class our pigeons as 'Live Stock'. Hence why hose pipe banns don't affect us. Also we are exempt from V.A.T. hence WHY 'Pigeon Race can't be really classified as a 'Sport'. However Every Country has the right to defend it's borders. Always have, so nowt will change there then.

Pleased for you mate. Have fun and enjoyment.

A friend, good friend who age 16 joined the marines... they like all services allowed themselves to be conned regards age etc. Lived in a small market town like me. Any road he won the Victoria cross saving many at great peril to himself. He sent the Medal back stating others were involved and should also be rewarded. Back came the reply stating though some truth it was HIM that did so and so and such. He said stuff you, keep it. 50 odd years later his grandson said he would have liked that.... So he wrote to the prime minister John Major. Had a reply within days. Had the medal back within the fortnight. when he died no one remembered him. No media recollect. Another, a brother of a friend won the St. Georges Cross. He was brought up over the road from me in the same small market town. His ship went down in the North Sea. and he was severely burned all over. He dragged a women and son 20 odd miles - another son took his life jacket off and drowned. 1952 it was, and it was in the papers and news etc. Became a high ranking officer. When he died, no one remembered. No local paper or any media... just forgotten. What am I saying? I don't know... But feel it is a shame etc.

Spot on! Both fighters are now expected to meet again in a rematch, delaying a potential bout between Wilder and unified champion Anthony Joshua for the right to become the undisputed champion. there we go then.

We will see. Fury has a good mouth. Has earned him £££'s. Now got him a £millions of £'S. Good luck to him, he talked it well. Am also of the opinion that Fury has trimmed down well and looks fitter than ever before. Maybe he now now his own hype and that he may, just may have a chance. But name a fighter - outside of Klito that was in prime, or had breathe in their body! Blown up old cruiser weights. Many never risen to be a name, but promoted well. Think it would be nice to be wrong - Was once lol -
-
Couldn't agree more. Fury never ever, and hasn't fought a capable with air in their lunges. Mostly blown up has been. Ok Then. the old has been Klitso, (Who in his time was more than good) but then I smelt a rat there. Fury certainly didn't want a rematch with the old fellow. I personally felt that it was arranged to be a three bouter. One win each and a rubber... Agree with Wilder beating the Fury pair together. Probably in the same ring without raising too much of a sweat lol Mind I might be wrong … I was once when I thought I was wrong, but wasn't, So I was wrong thinking I was wrong lol. But one certainty is I'm not paying to watch lol

I think Wilder within 3 rounds.

Who's choice of a winner? … Both I guess being paid a fortune!
-
Very well done. I am pleased for you.

Yes, I - fortunately- count Frank as a good friend. Have known him for many years. He has had pigeons at a very early age at school etc. He will often recall that it was actually the widowhood hens that made him, so to speak, and gave him his early success. Says that they were and are more genuine than the cock birds.

Sad for you homer jw. I feel for you. Had a talking Tim... small parrot. tWife sold off when we split. So sad. Good luck to your health mate.

How true. I remember (often) many years ago, when Louis did a hour long program on the BBC. World prices etc. etc. I'm putting good pigeons to the fancier able to buy at working man's prices etc. Then another thing he said, that really has stuck with me was when he said 'Of course I can't and don't guarantee winners. But the better the pigeon bred, better the chances are of winning. They will get the blood lines in their lofts' etc. etc. He has done a great service for the grass roots, nop two ways about that!
-
Dandy and Gibbs ( Or is it Gibbs and Dandy lol) Was the best prices anywhere for me... Mind I obviously don't know if there is one near you. Other than that, try the internet.
-
Fantastic mucker. I'm well pleased for you on both accounts. Well done!

Don't know how good the New one is! Many conflicting stories. But get a farmer to order, or get you some. Can't go wrong. Was a Farmer, very good flyer. Had open loft in the field. He. or maybe a farm labourer lol. clean out big time every 2 years. Had the birds out and placed else where. Put back 2 -3 weeks after when certain it was dry … didn't hurt the birds none if they did get some on the feathers though. Loft was always good. Dry and birds always tip top!
-
that's often said. By very many good flyers too!

True, so very true. Mind if phoned the police wouldn't say it, but the answer would be 'Bog off, don't you think we have more deserving things to be doing than that'. But reply 'Thank you for bring that to our notice, or . we thank you for your concern and understand Bla bla and we will send a police car around to have a look … you an phone 20 times more lol... but very unlikely they would get there. When challenged they will just say. 'We did send two cars round to have a look.. but couldn't see or hear anything'1 'But it's number 23 etc'. We will keep an eye out thank you lol. Me I just turn the tele up and think I …. lol
