    olympics 2012

Yes they are released at all the games, a symbol of peace. Pigeons of course as to doves. Best one that remember was the Moscow one.... Can't off hand recall China's. Though a great Pigeon Racing country in parts.... doubt many left not eaten lol. By both the people and the B.O.P.
  2. I see that Trafalgar have animal rights feeding the pigeons and surrounding area's. then the council come and sweep it up.... back they go and sprinkle some more. They are saying it is illegal to stop them feeding the birds, and pigeons. Haven't heard of any prosecutions as of yet. Yes know the bribed the corn sellers etc. But apparently many come from afar to intentinally feed them. Must say shamefully it is not as it was. And just imagine the stupid - but believed - crasse statement that was Ken's Nelson's column was covered with over 7 and a half tons of pigeon poop. Now that would have been no mean feat eh! Gosh just what hieght that must have risen eh lol... Nearly as high as the cr*p spout by Ken and other bodies like the rspb WHICH is for the gullible. No not gullible, ignarance to even try and evisage many uch statements.
  3. You know I also wrote a couple of extended pieces on here.... Think Jimmy White would remember them. Like the Cardboad from the kellogs pkts that we fought over... to cut a shape out and put it inside the shoes as they had whopping great holes in the bottom... How after 2 hours in the rain or snow they was useless and gone lol How mum would have to darn our socks each night because going down them icy slides quickly saw them through lol. Indeed wasn't as pleasant as we made out then ... but had to be 'One of the lads'. Summer was the same, holes in soles from using your feet as brakes on the ole trolly we had made up of any ole wheels and hopefully a set of pram wheels at the back. Golly even a pair of roller skates were shared ... One each for you and a mate, to used with an old book to sit upon it to go down the hills. Scumping was legal... as long as you didn't get caught lo. Rat a Tat Ginger was knocking doors and hiding ... or running like the clappers from ld misery guts lol. Till we learn A quicker and safer way to throw a conker at the door to get a head start. Days when dad would pull you in and make out he knew something... Kept saying 'We know all about that! I'm on about something else....' and we never really knew if he knew or not... till after we'd spouted out every thing lol.... Yes he'd know nowt lol.
  4. Yes Albear of course the Eagle Owl is a part that may well bring the RSPB faternity to the table so to speak. Indeed a sensible rallying of united voices to Dafra etc. To legalise them would be an Idea. But for any illegal action to be taken would only serve to scupper all our hard work and effrts surely. Nothing wrong in voices crying out for the need for Eagle Owls to be brought over and watched for their safety as the Peregrines are. And to be truthful and realistic if something drastic and meaningful isn't soon done thre won't be any Songbirds let alone Pigeon racing to be seen - let alone as a sport as we know it.
  5. Eagle Owls you mean Albear lol. (like all of us he’s got Hawks on the brain …. And in the back garden lol) That is though, I believe, a dangerous scenario to be aired. Certainly not one I'd like the RSPB in getting a notion that we are all thinking along them lines. Must admit that that would possibly be the quickest and most sensible solution. Certainly in the short term the P.O.B. or NSPP – called, it will be between these two names it appears; would still have a role to play and that for sure. However, I and other committee members, are reading, are taking on board these suggestions and comments. The committee is as we even speak engaged in drawing up a mandate. Some goals for instant action, others aims and objectives for a drawn out period of time that are wanted and needed. For let no one be fooled, the goals of betterment will be a long drawn out and arduous trek and make no mistake about that. Yes your support, thoughts and suggestion will always be sought and needed. Was going to say relied upon.... and that is true too.!

    Be nicer next Monday...
  7. What a great offer, and certainly one to take a lot of thought with. Won't better. easy manageable. Hire a long wheel base van / flat truck and get over there pronto.
  8. Wouldn't buy a shed and convert.... too dear for starters., flimsy wood and never how you want etc. A. a demolishion site willl give you stacks of decent season wood.... or very very cheap. Secondarily I say the best is to see a fellow in Plastic Cladding. 6 metre strips a foot wide. Build a frame as you wish. Decent size now mind. Bolt or screw if you ever want to move it. and cover with plasti sheeting. You can also get the air vents along the bottom. Remember if you wish to interchange solid for Vents at any time you can for tempreture reasons.
  9. Been wallaoping it down here. Alls quiet at the moment though... Birds soaked and looking disstraught and soaking wet, so they are happy lol.
  10. peroxide very mild in a spray bottle is great to go around you lofts with regularly. Does a world of good.
  11. Minute of bleach is fine, a teaspoon to 5 litres once or twice a week. Causes great tight feathering and great looking birds.... show or Photo. But NEVER NVER ever mi bleach with anything. Mind it will kill all the bad bacteria.... AND the good one equeally.
  12. A door door will we bopened, a palm leave offered offered to our European counter parts I've no doubt. Again then they will be able to, and have the oppertunity to speak, and or do as they so choose. Good to see the comments and suggestion for sure. Indeed all will be looked and and credence given to any and every constructive posting. I know that it is easier to break matches singularly than collectively in groups.
  13. Thank you for for informative piece Albear.... Like I said when I invited you to our table, that is exactly why. Yes you will be sorely missed not now having you on the committee, but mine and everyones heart felt best wishes do go with you in this, your troubled times. Futher, As an voice with valued input , these will always be well read and apreciated. I have be able - very pleased to say, a replacement on the committee has been made. A person also very forthright and different slants and views. This is as I have often harped on, all so important, construction well meaning input. Thank you again Albear.
  14. Very true and logical.... in this sport that unfortunately will quickly leave you in the minority lol :-/ ;D ;D Which joking aside is also very sad.
  15. Further, personally I feel as I said why I chose P.O.B. to kick start us of. I also like the N.S.P.P. because I feel it sound National, which it is, and most of the public / bird lovers we remember it easier. Could be Nation too I suppose N.P.O.B. But that leaves out Society, which may mean something to Joe Bloggs. Like Clinically Tested, It means absolutely nothing at all. You / me, can - like the advertisers do - call any room a clinic.... maybe it would want a microscope or a tape measure, whatever. Then I do a sample take. No more than a meaningless thing three times and say 'Clinically Tested'. Now National Society maybe good. Time now is of the essence. I'm absolutely shagged out and having a early night for a change. Will take the general consensus tomorrow and put it for the committee to vote on.
  16. Agreed Tyson, but so are them other keeper of pigeons, just like us.... in fact the Roller possibly the most. I certainly wasn't knocking your post or thoughts, for they are perfectly sound sense. However on a personal note, I'd like the other kind of pigeon fanciers to also be apart of us, and dip in their pockets etc. I just feel that via putting in 'Racing' we could well allienate them, and that is the last thing we need... to allienate any one.
  17. Thats two repeats in 12 hours lol. Both already up... Cocks too I guess lol
  18. Tyson, I feel we need to delete Racing. This is because very many other pigeon keepers keep pigeons of various kinds. Rollers / Tublers / Tipplers / pouters etc. etc. So then we would be left with National Society protecting pigeons. N.SP.P.
  19. Very true JB STAINFORTH of course it is. like pensioners don't /Shouldn't pay in clubs. Any elder person has earnt the right of a honouary members. :-/ But as so many now fit that bill I gues the youngsters can't afford us lol ;D ;D
  20. N.S.P.P is my favourite I feel as of yet. Still open of course till 10 tonight for any other ones put forward.
  21. Well whatever one may think of them, they do play a very large and needed integral part in the running of our so-called sport. Least not being Representative, stray / ring and distance / etc. etc. Sure there is - as with most concern - much to be desired, looked at and changed. However until then we have to make the best of it. For it is a certainty this sport, or any other can function without such. remember a little fact, mostly those get on join in at the trough. Genuine ones leave after bashing heir heads against the wall. Then any and most break away concerns are in he main someone’s / parties ego trips. If not sooner, then a little later they too have troughs to stick their’ snouts in. Further it takes a concerted effort by members for any change. Yes they do have the power, the means to. But are in the main either too peed off, or can't be bothered to even attend club meetings, let alone Fed or even Regional meeting, they are effectively giving a vote of confidence! So what chance? Those there carrying doing what the mostly believe to be in the interests of....
  22. One must remember two things, I believe, regardless of 'Name' letters. A what we are about. And how we are to be viewed. Not only to the public, but the rest of the Pigeon Faternity! If it is to be 'Birds' the mere Fact that there is the RSPB / the SOS Save our Songbirds etc. etc. This is regardless of what many think, the vast majority in the public associate them as 'Protectors of our Birds, in deed ALL birds with a Royal backing'! Hence interest would wane quickly if indeed it raised an eyebrow I feel. Also the concern would then have to be conversant in a very wide range of birds / habitats etc. etc. In deed would be quickly swamped and inundated with a colossal back drop of their’ Plights. Does one really want such a wide and diverse field? :-/ We do have enough problems of our own surely. Having said that YES! Without a second thought about it WE must be for ALL birds affected by the Hawk / Rapture / B.O.P. and that's for sure. But primarily it is for OUR birds, will be - especially in the main for quite sometime, us, pigeon fanciers of allsorts that will promote, sponsor, raise funds etc. Then of course the fig leaf is and will always be there for other 'Land' concerns and their problems that they are having the same as us. Sure United will be an asset. No two ways about that. can only be achieved I fear after we have taken the innovative forward a step, when others see our band wagon moving. I have a deluge of very well intentioned people every day with great ideas, and ways forward. So very much proving that I need assistance and help in this project. Great I have a very well and capable committee in place now. -Very much needed. I have a satellite of great fanciers on here willing to give a 100% like Swilcox, Formula lofts, Jimmy Bulgar, etc. etc And they are revered and their thoughts are also having to be put to the committee. Yes it is a small committee, with dozens as such plying great insight and inputs. For many believe this to be my 'Baby' my idea and project! :-/ :o Nothing could be further fro the truth! The only thing I have done is to be insistent in voicing YOUR concerns and others. The right to re - locate the B.O.P. Of having a one unified voice to represent and to present to the RSPB/ and other bodies and concerns. Ways of to enlighten and having help in this regard. Yes another united voice such as a P.R.Firm. We have taken a small, but giant step in our cause to highlight our plight…. And others. The trip has just begun though, and it will be a long and arduous trek and that’s for sure. I ought to take up Rabbits I guess lol. But by days end I believe a name / practical name that is NO MORE than a banner / Flag to OUR cause and Other Bird lovers. Full stop. But I will admit openly that I for one see a good interest, and very good suggestions. Yes the reasons also why one thinks as such.
  23. and sob, or Son of a *expletive removed* lol will mean that folks will recall lol But has merit and that's for sure.
  24. Be nice for any other input to be put up - sensible stuff only - as time is of the essence, and needs sorting flipping quickly.
  25. I have slept on it, and that with a few other sugestion are use full. P.O.B. was of course the thought of B.O.P. being reversed. Yet of course that will not ring any bels with a vast amount of the folk ... even fanciers I gues Lol. Yes I like UWF. I have had these put to me as well. Pigeon Aid Save our Sport Committee SORP, Save our racing pigeon Alliance of Pigeon Fanciers UK Save RP Flying Friends Safe Skies Not least RSPP Royal sociaty Protection Pigeons ... but that would have to have the blessing of the royal family. Hence it's National PCC etc. So could be NSPP. Be nice if the queen stripped the RSPB of the Royal part I guess :-/.... never happen of course :B
