Yep Asha that works... but usually one doesn't want to break his spirit! We notice, or should that building confidences up is all important. That every so often a 'Royalty' birds arrives and blesses us with their present. Thisjust ouze class, and every other in mate knows He's King, or Queen. They very often turn out to be the very best of racers, something special.... hate to know that out of one.... they so very seldom come along, and may - or may not - be bossy Boots. Found the one I was lucky enough to have was very territorial, but throughout it's life, even at 14, all inmates just knew his and their places, so was always a peaceful loft with every bird nowing it's pecking order.

Well yes... the POB (Protecting our Birds) badly needs funds to help defend, and leave this sport to our kids... Yes we are custodians of this sport. Yes we give £000,00's each year to worthwhile causes and charities! Went to Humberside week last to pick up a bird I'd lost. 123 miles. Had a great day out, met a great guy! Spent 4 hours of competeative ' Who told the best fibs' and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Cost a !/3 less in fuel than a courier. If time permits, I alway go personally.... use it as a training chuck, so when one off loads that within the costs, often in real terms it is far far better and cost effective. JMO :-/

Natural takes in some ways more preparation due to the system of course, but on the other side less to prepare for them oh important 7 weeks of superform. Which is easier to keep :-/ Widower I'd guess.... but whereas a Natural with benefit and get better even in the basket, the widower starts to wane desire to home after a couple of days or so. Then again, as results show, hens are far more genuine and Whereas the Natural have a lot higher % of wins in hard and distance races, again the Hen, easier to prepare has the highest % of the cock and hens. Many fly both for this reason. So I guess from Mid May a loft ful of hens, even mated together are the best.... :-/ ;D ;D ;D

Mr Flute from Tipton, relayed to me that many of his birds had 1/8 Rock Dove bred back into them... :-/ may have, or a wind up, was never sure, so :-/

Disagree there. Had one come into my loft, thought it would be a good watch out merchant. Treated the same and trained as others, Neither mine, nor yours, or anyone elses will beat it home over 60 miles. Never went further of course and could send as trainer or racer of course. Many, yes very many have won clubs and Feds. Wills worked on the Gas board. He like the Blacks, so him and his mate Dick ****** (He's still winning and seling them) So a coup was built. Any blacks were rung and tethered, then collected and placed in the coup. They devasted many, and flew the pants of the Fed some weeks. Sold them 4 years down the line to a well know stud. Most kids, and many of those that wanted cheap birds raced them with great sucess. Catlin use to only have the 'Church'.... rung and tethered youngsters, and did very well with them. He saved up and sent ONE to the National. First race ever, for him and the pigeon.... won the National. There are countless expensive breeding crap that become townies. Just why :-/ should it be that when two meet up and mate they automatically become useless crap.... gosh just a few weeks prior they were good enough to pin the fanciers hopes on of acheiving great foundation racing birds. Many grand children are great throw backs.... and the OUTCROSS is all so very inportant. Would I try them :-/ Yeah I reckon I would. Any reds / grizzles etc. that look promising that owners don't want back, give me a shout. I'd breed some pairs up and see how thay fare for sure.
