I do believe I covered aged Beans before but will cover it again. Put a new bean in your mouth and chew it, You will find it is bitter to taste. Now do the same with a 3 year old Bean and you will find it is sweet. I am of the opinion that the acid in new Beans convert to Sugar the longer they are stored. When in the past I had the room to store them I purchased 1 ton at a time every year and put them away for future years. Some of the top men in the past would store them in the attic of their house for future use. I cannot comment on other grains other than Eddie Newcombe would never feed new wheat and when he did it was no more than 5%.

I have ATX Swiss panels purchased at Blackpool and to me they are brilliant when working off either the Heater or Hygrometer (supplied). Go to ATX SUISSE and read for yourself the advantages. As far as I am concerned I would not be without them and reasonable to run cost wise. Last week when cleaning the loft I set the heater to 25c and forgot to switch it back over resulting 24 Hrs later in a loft full of down feathers. You can even give the birds a bath inside the loft and the floor will be dry within the hour. Their is a British agent but unfortunately I cannot find his number in my book. P.S. You are welcome to come over and see for yourself.

Creosote in its true form is used for the pressure treatment for wooden telephone poles wherever it may be ?. You cannot purchase it due to environment rules "EEC".
-
I personally would not use any thinning agent on creosote due to it being coal tar based with the main ingredient being Creosol which thinning down will change the composition making it less affective as a repellant. Oil based products are a different kettle of fish which can be thinned down with their composition being similar.

If I bring a young Aarden cock down you wont have that problem :emoticon-0140-rofl:

I used to soak beer mats in old style creosote and put them under the nest pans when they were rearing and racing,it never affected those sitting or the youngsters in the nest. You never had red mite or flies hanging about either.

Dont know where you lot are staying ???. But recently fountain iced over, Fish in the pond stopped eating and moved to the bottom, Rhubarb rotted with first frost, Agapanthas gone overnight, Begonias had to be lifted 2 months ago, Dahlias gone and lifted last week, Gladiolas gone 4 weeks ago, Grass stopped growing and had its last cut last month, Hedges turning brown, Daffodills still 4 inches under and the only colour is from the Winter Pansies and Polyanthus in my flower bed. Mary and I wish to thank those who shared our grief at losing MAC, Our other two dogs Jack & Jill know that he is missing and searched frantically the house and garden checking the lofts, sheds and greenhouse for him but have now settled down and comandeered MAC'S arm chair in the sitting room which I thought I would have back. Peter.

peter pandy replied to sparko's topic in Natural Remedies & Supplements
Thank you for bringing to my attention the dosage rate being incorrect. It should have read 1Ml per 1Ltr water as it is 1 X 1000 parts. -
Just over 15 years ago the wife and I purchased from the pick of the litter Mac who was a Labrador/Retriever and he had a marvellous life especially when we worked on the estates. His favourite was when out with the gun he would quarry and rise game birds out of Barley or wheat fields and all you could see was his tail sticking straght up when going about his business. When we retired 4 years past we would walk 4 miles daily untill he started having difficulty with his back legs. Friends said he definately had contracted athritis and we went along with their prognosis giving him Omega 3 capsules and a herbal tablet which appeared to work but his excersizing days were caput when he collapsed and we had to carry him home. His condition worsened over the past year and seemed to have lost control of his rear legs and back passage to the extent we took him to the vet to put him out of his misery. The vet who had watched him on cctv whilst in the waiting room said he was not in pain and was a happy dog asked when we informed her of his athritis if he had been professionally examined and we told her in the negative, She then examined him feeling him all over and internally also twisting his legs and proclaimed he had nothing wrong internally and he most certainly did not have athritis. What her prognosis was that some of his brain cells had ceased to function which was why he would lose control of his rear legs with the message taking extra time to inform his functions what to do. we told her we did not want to prolong the inevitable however their is a new drug which increases the blood flow to the brain and reoxygenates what cells are left so we put him on a course of them. All appeared to be working fine with control of his legs refunctioning and no more jobbies to pick up from his bed in the morning, We even started excercising again all be it only 1/2 mile morning and evening but it was not to last and to-day he collapsed and was crying with frustration. we had to arrange my son to come and carry him to the car and into the Vet to have him put to sleep. we will miss him as he was part of our family and much loved. Perhaps if we had not listened to others and taken him to the vet at the start and had him on this medication sooner he would still be here and for that we am having great difficulty in accepting that this could have been avoided if we had acted sooner. Rest in Peace old friend.
